2007 Acura TL Motor Mounts

Hi guys,

I took my car to get an oil change a few weeks ago and my mechanic mentioned I need to replace all my motor mounts. He quoted me $1252 with taxes, labor and parts. I've looked online for the OEM parts and found them all 3 for $400 more or less and my brother-in-law said he could do it for me.

I've done my fair share of research on this forum and see that different members have used OEM, aftermarket, etc....My car currently has 125k miles and I plan on keeping it for at least another year or 2, so should I go the OEM route?

Thanks in advance!
~Stephani

Go OEM unless you plan to do moderate/Heavy performance mods.

No moderate/heavy modding. Maybe a warm air intake and that's it lol

Should I also have my transmission mounts replaced? I don't know if this has anything to do with the car not shifting smoothly anymore or it's strictly the engine mounts.

LOL, you mean HOT air intake? HAI?

Might as well get trans mounts replaced because you'll have to jack up the front and the rear side of the engine to remove them, while you have that up on the jack, replace the 2 lower ones. The top trans mount requires the removal of the air box that's it.

If you plan on just keeping the TL for another year or so; just buy them from ROCKAUTO to save some cash.

Buy the 3 engine and transmission mounts; use the rest of the money to buy the "warm air intake"

I went with an Innovative urethane mount for the side mount, OEM for the front mount and 3 transmission mounts that were also bad. Zero issues since (these cars eat engine mounts) and vibration at idle with the one urethane mount is minimal.

Hi Scott, do you mind sending the link info for the "Innovative urethane mount"? and what transmission mount part numbers for the 3?
Did you not replace the rear engine mount?

Thanks!

I just swapped all the engine and trans mounts for a 8th gen V6 6MT accord with innovative motor mounts. The front and rear will make the biggest impact on NVH. The rear was more than the front, but not by much. The trans mounts all came from oreily auto, they had the best quality ones I could find besides stock. The car is now a rattle trap when the AC is on and I’ve had to track down a few interior vibrations and rattles and fix them tbh

Side engine mount is CHEAP and real easy to replace compared to front and rear, get OEM or whatever from RockAuto.

Does anyone have the parts numbers for transmission mounts? I'm trying to order them from Rock Auto but I'm finding different ones. Thanks!
