I would stick to oem for front and rear motor mounts. Factory ones have vacuum lines running to them. They change stiffness according to vacuum.

Would you guys use the aftermarket brands for the transmission mounts?

I need to replace my transmission mounts, not sure if it's worth going OEM.

How about the side engine mount by the TB? Stock or Rockauto?

I would get OEM.
They're cheap enough to get OEM.
Front and rears cost a lot more, which is why some people explore aftermarket options.

The side mount your talking about near the throttle body isn't a engine mount. That's a transmission mount.

The side engine mount for the TL is on the passenger side near the power steering and washer fluid reservoir. You'll have to remove plastic cover to reveal it.

As for oem or aftermarket for the transmission mount I couldn't tell you.

I paid $150 for oem cv axle instead of $70-$80 for aftermarket. I don't mind paying extra

My opinion...I don't think it matters as much for the side motor mount as it does for the front and rear.

I have an '04 TL w/ 118K that a Honda and an Acura dealership both said had all bad engine- and transmission mounts. The Honda place wants $935+4 hours labor to replace them, including programming the mounts. I can tell you now that this will NOT go over well with the Minister of Finance. So, I have some questions. If I can afford them, I'll use OEM parts.

1. How many of the mounts have vacuum lines to them?
2. WTH is "programming" the mounts? Calibrating them? Wouldn't you just hook up the vacuum lines to the mount after installing them?
3. I plan in replacing them myself. Would a dealership program them after I install them?
4. Any sage advice?
5. Are the mounts a problem with these models?

1. 2, front and rear
2. It's BS, there's no such thing. There is however, neutralizing the motor mounts, which is a simple extra step during the installations
3. No such thing as programming a motor mount
4. Not really, since you aren't doing it yourself so it wouldn't matter what advice I give.
5. They wear quick, but it's not really a "problem"
