Yeah saw that

bridgewater acura - the seller - sells quite a few cars on bat

horseshoez 02-21-2019 09:05 PM

That is a beautiful example of a Type-S 6MT and I am quite sure it will fetch a beautiful price as well.

gatrhumpy 02-21-2019 10:23 PM

Would not buy because of accident. Otherwise, nice car!

MyGuti 02-21-2019 11:04 PM

Far from mint, but I guess the price reflects that. There's a bit of room for negotiation as well IMO.

Keep us posted; my brother who lives in Connecticut is nearing the end of a lease on a GTI and has suddenly become enamored with the Type-S 6MT; this would be a perfect one for him. :)

so you temping get another TL-S MT?

GhostTL09 02-22-2019 10:34 PM

I used to live 10 miles from Bridgewater Acura. They stay with very high priced used Acura's and if it's in good condition they put an extra premium on top of the used car value. I bought my Acura's from Springfield Acura which was about 15 miles from them for thousands less

Curious3GTL 02-23-2019 10:50 AM

Could be 25 miles in opposite directions - probably not same town. I have about 4 Acura dealers within a 25ish mile radius of my home - all in different towns.

By town, I guess I meant the metro area.

I have four Acura dealers in my region, one about an hour away (60 miles), another one 1hr 15 min. away (80 miles), one 2 hr 15 min. away (135 miles), and the last one is in my state, 2hr 45 min. away (180 miles)...

horseshoez 02-23-2019 12:03 PM

Then there are those of us who live in the relative boonies; my two closest Acura dealers are 35 and 45 minutes away, assuming good traffic (not a good bet).

NBP04TL4ME 02-23-2019 12:14 PM

Ah - but distance and time are two different things........... Closest dealer is about 14 miles and still takes me 30 or so mins to get there -traffic or not. Mind you I don't go to any of these dealers but once in a blue moon as I have a Honda mechanic who has been taking very good care of me for a few years now.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat; I work 25 miles north of where I live, further away from both Acura dealers, however, only about five miles from a Honda dealership.

The Acura has seen the Honda dealership only once (several dealership folks tripped all over themselves trying to get me to trade in my 6MT for a new Accord, yeah, NOT). Better still, a local shop near me is owned by a former Acura Service Manager and Lead Technician. :)

I wouldn't blame you, and you can't beat an indy shop like that! :)

10/10 would recommend this car, it is beyonddd clean. All defects are cosmetic, superficial and documented in the pics. Whomever scoops this up will be extremely pleased with their purchase.

Nahh I already have 1 too many TL's (looking to offload my 2000) just figured since I was in the area anyway, might as well help another potential enthusiast pick up this rare gem of a car who would appreciate it.

Thanks, I just passed that along to my brother. :)

Curious3GTL 02-27-2019 07:18 AM

Can a seller cancel the sale? This car is listed at no reserve. The Acura dealership selling it has another Type S listed for 14k with 90k miles. If this one say sells for 12K, can they say we don't want to sell it to you?

horseshoez 02-27-2019 07:51 AM

Hmmm, current bid is $9,999; wonder what it will go for. Does anybody know when the auction ends?

horseshoez 02-27-2019 08:22 AM

Interesting, 30 minutes ago the BaT page didn't show anything for the "Ends In" field, now it is showing 1-Day.

I'm wondering if a bunch of folks are waiting for the last minute to start cranking up their bid price.

According to the FAQ page on BaT the clock resets to 2 minutes after each bid in order to give other bidders a chance to respond. So the "last minute" is at least two minutes and could go on for quite a while. See below:

Why does the clock keep resetting?

It’s common in online auctions for buyers to use special software to enter a bid in the very last seconds of the auction to outbid others without giving them a chance to respond. During the last 2 minutes of BaT Auctions, the clock resets to 2 minutes after every bid. This happens until no more bids are placed and the auction ends. This gives everyone a chance to place their bids and gives sellers a chance to sell to the true high bidder.

From the FAQ page -

Can I cancel my auction once it's live?

We do not cancel auctions and run them for the entire 7 day period. We require listings to be exclusive to BaT during that time with all other ads taken down.

I didn't see anything related to a seller not wanting to sell the car to a buyer after the auction ends.

Thats usually the trend Ive seen on here and been watching this auction since opening and its been tracking it down on my listing.

I agree, thought would be higher by now but expect people to come out swinging in last hours/minutes I cant imagine it going for just under $10k.

Greenman604 02-27-2019 11:40 AM

Almost bought a TL from Bridgewater, but ended up finding my current one from Denville. Either place usually has a Type-S on the lot at any given time.

Yeah, but this is the unicorn Type-S 6MT with low mileage. :)

It's the CBP unicorn... Not quite the KBP unicorn...

horseshoez 02-28-2019 06:27 AM

I don't understand all of the anti-unicorn sentiment; pretty much any Type-S 6MT is a unicorn.

teh CL 02-28-2019 09:56 AM

Think it's more that the KBP is one of the most sought after Type S colours.

NBP04TL4ME 02-28-2019 03:39 PM

~ 20 mins left and it's up to $12,300

nist7 02-28-2019 04:00 PM

Wow big jump. Was down to less than 1min at 12.3k and now bidding war ensues. $14k!

Main issue is the accident report. And also agree with above comments...KBP TL-S 6MT is 1 of the most sought after unicorns. Honda knows how to do blue

NBP04TL4ME 02-28-2019 04:01 PM

And interesting to see how that 2:00 reset after each bid works.
