08 Type S with 190k on the clock, worth it?

So i have an 04 Aspec 6spd black on black that is my daily, has about 155k. Being a 14yr old car, its in ok shape, theres a few things here n there that need attention but overall a great car. I work for a dealer body shop and saw they have an 08 Type S listed for sale at about $5,500. The downsides are its an automatic and has tan interior. Would it be worth it to by as a donor car for mine or just wait and see if i can find a 6spd black int version? Or should i just sell mine and buy a Type S the way i want it. Let me know what you guys think

Thats pretty much what i was thinking. Just wondering if it would be worth it to shell out $3-4k on a high mileage donor Type S that is an auto with a different color interior and pick and choose what i want to transfer to my 04

If it were a manual, then it would have been a resounding yes.

is it that MRP Type S for sale at the Audi dealership? 2 owners? You sound like you want a bit better condition TL that is Type-S. Just do it. Buy it for 4000 and call it a day and get it how you want it and sell the 04. I see the 07 has had a couple accidents reported also. Are you tired of the 04 and just want to look at something different?

The idea is to keep my 04 and use the 07 as a donor car for parts. Then scrap/sell what i dont use. And yes, that is the one im looking at.

Is your intend to get into a Type S MT with two tone seat? If that the case I would say scrap the idea and save your money and start looking for a TL-S MT.

IMO conversion is whack since you will never able to convert over to Type S and even some how you manage to do so the cost will be stupidly high. Keep what you have now, looking for a TL-S MT then buy the TL-S hold on to both cars for awhile to get TL-S issues situated then sell your 04 TL. There are countless of time where I don't regret selling my old car after I bought a "new" used car.

like stated; if you have the cash and want to do it..then do it.
if you dont have the cash and have to finance a 2nd car just to swap, then dont do it.
it's really up to you and your finances and your ability to sell the scrap car.

again, we aint your money managers. you can do what you want. is it a good idea? only you can decide

Agreed, got my 07 6spd TL-S with 195K for a good deal, only did it because it was a manual however.

Got my 08 TL-S 6MT for a really good deal with about 133K miles.
Had to put money into it to do the major maintenance though, but was worth it!
