'08 TL Type S IMRC actuator install
Hello everyone. I posted this problem once before but I guess I'm not the smartest. I posted in the wrong place. Anyway, I have a code 1078 on my 2008 TL type S. The actuator is bad. I have some concerns about installing the new one when it arrives. Does it have to be timed to the flap in any way or do you just bolt it on and it finds open and closed itself? Thank you for your time.

Question,
Where did you purchase your actuator? I’ve been looking like a mad man but can’t find the replacement part. And how much did it cost you? I’m having the same issue with p1078.
Thanks!

The title of this thread is for '...IMRC actuator install'. IMRC=Intake Manifold Runner Control and that is #5 on the link I provided above for an '08 TL-S.
You asked where to purchase said actuator.

This is what I am wondering for an 05 TL. The service manual not state anything about installing with the flap down or up.

the flap is "keyed" so when you put the motor on it can only go 1 way, you may have to move the flap for it to go into the motor. Takes all of 2 mins, and only takes 3 seconds to drop one of those screws!
