'06 TL 5AT Nav 185k failed tranny value?
Value (resale/trade in value) estimates for an '06 TL 5AT with navigation 185k and a failed transmission?
It has a crack and small missing piece on the front passenger side bumper, all cosmetic and scratch/dent on the read driver's side door and wheel hub. New tires, new brakes, headlight, battery etc.
Thanks!

Part it out and maybe you can get $1500

Or rebuild the trans. I had never touched one, and rebuilt the one in my wife's Accord. Total cost for parts, less than $1000. But these are way up the difficulty level. And they can be done for a lot less in parts than mine. I just went way overboard when I did it. IIRC the master Raybestos rebuild kit was around $300 and a reman torque converter was about $200. I kept getting distracted by other things while I had the engine and trans out of the car. After doing it, I found I could pull the engine and trans out of the top in a day. Build the trans at night throughout the week, then put it all back in the following weekend.
I had to do it twice because I didn't get the valve body seated correctly the first time...lol
