My son replaced his with remanned OEM, zero fitment issues, zero starting issues since.

Or you could install aftermarket crank on the front of the car...

I'm pretty sure he bought it at Autozone...there are coupons for Autozone online if you google for them. I think he had one for 20% off. No idea what it cost though. They're name is Duralast for their starters I think. It was like $150 and then 20% off. It has a limited lifetime warranty too.

AZ remanufactured alt/starters are junk, sorry. Go to Rock Auto and look for new starters $89/$104, and look at the warranty. I believe the Remy is lifetime.

I got a spare MT starter motor if you want it. Only reason I have it is because one of the bolt snapped when I was removing it to check the clutch. Ill sell it cheap

you can see that one of the bolt is broken. I as pretty pissed that day

04 manual/147k

Ok this morning I went out and it started then went out came back (left the car running) got back to the house and sure enough it did not restart. Upon attempting to restart I heard a high pitched sound anyone has this before?
I just ordered a re-manufactured OEM from rock auto brand name REMY.

So would I. Paul, our star master mechanic in NJ recommends the rebuilt Denso if you're not buying a new one. Even then, he says stick with Denso for all the parts they made for this car like starters, alternators, etc.

Update, I had Remy rebuilt starter installed yesterday . Look and sounds like the original.
total cost 102 for starter 85 install ...

Note: original starter did have caked on black dust at the front part to the crank. Is this a preclude to impending issue? 6speed 147k original clutch

No, normal debris from use. The solenoid is the problem as the contacts become corroded/worn and no power transmitted to the starter motor.

Have never been inside the TL solenoid, but many years ago when GM solenoids became a problem, one could open it up, reverse the contacts and the solenoid would be as new.

Yup, and you can rebuild them for about $35:

Rebuild your starter for less than $20 - Team Integra Forums - Team Integra

That link was in the thread link I posted in post #5...

Go with Mitsuba from rockauto. They Manufacture OEM starters for Honda/Acura. I have one in my TL. Works perfectly.
