I'm very glad to hear it when people find the guide useful, thanks!

If you want to use HIDs with these fog lights, you will only want to use 35W HIDs.
Generally, 55W HIDs melt housings due to the heat generated.

A very popular option these days are LEDs - produce less heat, do not require a warm up time to reach full brightness, and most importantly plug and play with no ballasts or wire harness to mess with.
Atlas_Gen provided a link to the pair of LEDs he bought above.

I'm thinking that these are common ones that others have purchased. Can anyone clarify?

Yezzer Wusty, those ones. I also bought myself the other 06-07 fogs, the ones with thick bezels like this one..

But looking at them after receiving them, they need some type of bracket to mount. I have the ones you linked installed, paired with LED's. Pretty easy and straightforward, just time consuming.

Hey everyone,

I just finished installing my Inspire fog lights today. Everything seemed to be working okay, but I did notice some significant issues when wiring PIN 1 of the fog light switch to Fuse 32.

Here is a thread describing my situation:
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-a...appear-971301/

When wired to Fuse 32, my gear shifter and radio did not work. It's almost as if too much too much power was being drawn through this 7.5A fuse. For everything to work correctly, I had to wire my fog light switch to the other accessory fuse in the cabin, Fuse 9, which is a 15A fuse. Unfortunately, this fuse isn't ideal since the fog lights do not turn off when the car is off. Has anyone else had issues with this?

As an update, I did go back to using Fuse 32. The Add-a-Fuse that I am using has two slots for fuses to be inserted. I inserted the normal 7.5A fuse (already in the Fuse 32 location) as well as an additional 15A fuse that came with the Add-a-Fuse. All seems to be working flawlessly now.

Switch figment

Hi all, I know that this is a relatively older post but I was wondering if anyone who has done this mod had any issues with the fitment of the fog light switch? Iíve had this mod done for a while now and when it was done I essentially just jammed the switch into the extra slot next to the mirrior switch as the switch itself was not an exact fit into the slot. And Iím perfectly fine with it, but because I forced the switch into the slot I do not have the option to turn the fogs on or off, theyíre always on when the parking lights are on. I have an 04, do the 06ís-08ís have an actual switch there? Can or should I just replace the switch with a TL one? Mine sits out about a quarter of an inch itís not flush with the panel. Thanks for info!

*Assuming you used the cheapo switch that came with the kit....

I recommend you purchase an OEM Honda Accord fog light switch to replace the crappy one. It's the best one you can get unless you want to purchase a second VSA switch, strip the paint, and a repaint it with a "Fog Light Switch" decal of some sort. (You will notice that the fog light switch doesn't follow the curve of the dash EXACTLY like the VSA switch does, but it's still a great fit.)

I used the Honda Accord fog light switch and I think it looks great.

I was extremely anal when I installed my button cap. As you can see, there is a distinct difference in the curvature and the pigment is slightly different. The Acura VSA switch is on the left and the Honda Accord fog light switch is on the right.

I hope this helps

How did you get the nighttime light on the button to light up when your headlights are on? I've had this button but never did figure out what wire to illuminate at night

So the switch that comes with the kit isn’t OEM? The blue lights in your switches look great btw!

I would have to see exactly what you purchased, but any "kit" you buy generally does not include OEM parts as this is a retrofit kit. Most people buy the aftermarket fog light kits from Amazon, eBay, etc. which includes, fog lights, the wiring harness, and a switch. The aftermarket fog lights are made of plastic lenses and the cheap switch is not very good. If you purchased genuine OEM fog lights from Honda, they would run you several hundred dollars as the lenses are made from glass. The OEM Honda fog light switch can be purchased for 10-12 bucks and fits almost perfectly.

Some people use the kit's switch, but I went the extra step and purchased a OEM switch as a replacement.

And thanks! My interior is almost completely converted to blue and white LEDs. I just have to change the lights on the doors. This has been ongoing for like 3 years lol. I have to step up and just finish the dang thing.

PS - Keep in mind that if you use an OEM Honda Accord fog light switch, the green connector will not directly plug in. You will likely have to splice the wires from your wiring harness and solder them to the pins on the switch. I cut back the plastic casing and soldered 5 wires to the light switch. See pictures below for reference.

Thanks for sharing!

Also I can't help myself from commenting about how your fog light switch is upside down

Lol, I noticed this when I first installed it and have been too lazy to disassemble and correct it. I was hoping no one would notice .

Screw you guitarplayer16

Ah gotcha, yeah my kit was definitely about $45, I always wondered why it was so cheap lol. I’ll just get the OEM switch then, I hate how much mine sticks out. And thanks for the wiring tip! Do you have any interior pics of your lighting set up? Blue and white is exactly what I want but I am not good at all with the electrical and wiring stuff and having to mess with replacing all those tiny bulbs just seems like a huge pita honestly. And I’ve yet to find a decent place near me that want to tackle the job

Edit: Never mind I saw your interior pics and that looks really good!

Just did this! I've been running the OEM fog light switch but the logo never light up - only the indicator when the fogs were enabled. I feel using the switch and the connector provided is a slightly cleaner install, as it lets you pop out and rearrange the switches with ease. I hated how where the fog light was positioned originally wouldn't let me see the indicator unless the wheel was at a certain degree - so I ended up swapping the switch placement with the VSA. The connector was easy enough to disconnect to allow me to do this. For anyone that's still looking for the switch, it's not too bad for the price:

Amazon Amazon

Just make sure you know how to crimp the pins correctly!

In order for the fog light switch logo to light up (i.e. turn on with your parking lights), you have to connect Pins 3 and 4 to the VSA switch or another set of Positive and Negative wires. The signal has to be pulled from "something" that turns on when the parking lights are turned on.

Just adding pics... and also a link for the T-taps to splice the VSA wires cleanly:

Amazon Amazon
These let you splice, and then you can connect the wires with a connector. I also utilized a working bulb from when I replaced the bulbs in the radio:

So I really wanna do this soon because I love lower fog lights. One question though, I was thinking about just tapping into my factory fog lights for power. Figured it would be simple to ground the lights and bring power off of the fog light wire that way it works like factory. Also what kind of time could I expect for this model to take?
