$585 for 105K Service @ Acura of Greensboro NC

Greensboro of Acura is running a deal on the 105K service for only $585. This does not include plugs but everything else (water pump, timing belt, coolant, etc>). I scheduled mine to be done this coming Wednesday. Plus they are giving me a loaner. I've done a lot of digging and this is the lowest price I have come across. Thought I share this with you guys if you are looking to have this done and you can make it to Greensboro NC.

Good price, but just a reminder, if you're around Central Jersey, Hamilton Honda still has their special:
Complete timing Belt Replacement Special
$389.98
Includes water pump, timing belt, drive belt, parts & labor.
If tensioner needed add $75.00. Includs parts & labor.

Wish I lived in your area...

I just reached 100K on my TL and was quoted $780.00 + tax for the 105K service here in California (Acura of Glendale). Is this because I'm a girl? Lol...would anyone recommend me just having the timing belt changed at a local non-acura dealership shop? There is a shop owned by an armenian close to me who said he could instal a new OEM timing belt on for $500.00 out the door (cash only). Very tempting.

i would drive up to jersey for that price and just stay with a friend ... i think including gas back and forth would still be cheaper than going to a local dealer here

For timing belt service, I would stick with dealer because one they will use all oem parts as well as their techs see our cars day in and day out. I know price difference can be tempting but, it is also a peace of mind knowing that it will be done right the first time.

You're probably getting a better price because you're a female.

Actually, dealers can charge up to $1200 for changing the timing belt, etc. (the "4" service, or pre-MID "105K mile" service). Try calling Santa Monica Acura and Sierra Acura about it-- I bet their prices are higher.

I wouldn't go to the Armenian guy for cash unless he knows Acuras and Hondas and will give you a written warranty.

Yup, guys on the Forum have already had their cars done. I specifically called and spoke to the Service manager a few months ago before posting, just to be sure.

Hello fellow NC resident.

I'm 20k away from needing that service done but I'll have to remember this when it's that time. I highly doubt the stingy bastards at Leith Acura would do it for that cheap.

just called my local acura dealer and they're asking over $1k with taxes for timing belt service.. called hamilton and they said they'll service my TL for the promo price of $389.. they're over an hour away from me tho.. prolly still worth it tho! When is it recommended to change the timing belt? I'm currently at 94K.

7 years or 105kmiles is book ---
but if you operate severe air temp areas-cold or hot, 60kmiles 4-5 years

If there is a killer price special on now and you have the money--get it done!
an hour drive is nothing- they can drop you off at the movies if a loaner to cruise around town isnt available that day--
midweek is always better to get loaner~~

spend the extra for timing belt tensioner AND its idler pulley- regardless of their condition now- they may not leak today but in 6 months.. or certainly before another 100kmiles goes by, they will fail

for their small price, they protect the belt-if one of them fails its same as breaking the belt--minimum 2500$ damage INSIDE the engine, PLUS still have to replace the timing belt AGAIN!! what a scam when they say--its ok-we reuse them

No they're not trying to cheat you because you're a girl. Timing belt service varies from shop to shop.. $780 isn't a terrible price. There are many things that need replacing not just the belt. Parts alone for everything is ~$300 including plugs, coolant, thermostat, water pump, auto tensioner, idler pulley, adjuster, drive belt.

Question- that price is only for the timing belt, water pump.. but isn't there an actual 105K "maintenance" which includes other things as well like trans flush etc??

Yo -

That’s a great price, Hall Acura in Virginia Beach is asking for $900.00, and I doubt I get a loaner with that.

Im wondering if I should go ahead and have this service done on my TL. Im only at 82k but im moving to Germany (army) in January and will be there for the next 3 yrs. Im sure I can get the service done in Germany, but thinking I should go ahead and knock it out here with a Acura dealer. What do you guys think?

Hamilton Honda advertises that price every week, but in this past week, I saw Princeton Honda advertising that they will match any other advertised Honda service prices, so good chance that you could get the same price here.

I'm still far away from needing my timing belt replaced, maybe they'll still be advertising this price when I'm ready.

I would go ahead and get it done here in the states for peace of mind. you are not too far away from Greensboro to take advantage of the price. Who knows what they'll charge you in Germany and how close will you be to an Acura dealer?

FYI, my recent trip to Germany for business, I only saw one Acura TL. I was there for more than a week! And that was neither at Wiesbaden or Stuttgard. You should probably do it before you go.

That's where I bought both of my Acura's. Great deals on sales - no F'ng around either. EASILY worth the drive from Charlotte.

Big

$585 is a FANTASITIC price for the Timing Belt service. Most times you're looking at $900 - $1200.

I just made my appointment for next week and am so jazzed that I'm getting it for this price@ Greensboro Acura. I called Leith Acura of Cary to see if they would be able to come close to Greensboro so I would not have to drive but they said $950.00 without stuttering.... Feeling Good!!! Thanks for posting this deal

Just called local acura dealer.. There are 2 in my city.

North side wants, $1k just for belts, wtr pump, and coolant. To do complete 105k service is $2k!!

South side wants $850 for belts, wtr pump, and coolant add $125 for timing tensioner. 105k for $1550 - 250 for plugs.

DAMNIT! I have an 02 MDX with 109k and need it done. 6hr drive one way to Greensboro. Could make it a vacation wknd! Wife has wanted to go to NC forever! Hmmm..

OH and neither dealer will match or come close to the 2 prices quoted in this thread. They dont understand how or why they would do for this price since parts alone cost this if not more. When they have specials they offer 75-100 off thats it!

Maybe ill order the Timing belt kit and just do myself!
