$25k for 2007 CPO TL-S??? possible?

I've done a lot of car searching as of late...test drove a LOT of cars, and for it's all arond practiality, sportiness, and features, I've decided to get a TL-S.

I'm not trying to find the best deal - of course!

There are quite a few CPO TL-S in my area.. a lot of 07s...on average, the ones iwht about 25-35k miles are asking high high 20s, low 30s. I've seen some in the 26-27k range...

would it be unrealistic to offer $25k and stick firm to it - or think many dealers would not go that low? i'm optiimistic that if I look long enough, I can get one in that price range...what do you all think?

i *could* just fork over $27 and buy one at what they are asking, but I hae to think I can knock them down just a little more and make the deal that much better.... then I've got some spare change for tint, a RSB...maybe some minor tweaks I'd like to do.

yes i personally feel that 25k is doable esp the way the economy is right now ... but they might ask u to finance through them

$25k is pushing it, would depend on how many miles. You might be able to get a little bit higher mileage one (35k miles) for that. If the miles in the low 20k's, and it's a CPO, you probably won't get it for $25k.

In my area, there are a couple 2008's with 12-15k miles and they are asking $30-$32k for them. Hell I only paid $33k for mine brand new.

I'd say 26 is a good price, have them throw in all season mats and a few accessories as well to sweeten the deal, maybe ask them for 27 with full extended warranty...

Bought my 07 TL Type S two days ago in NJ.

CPO, MINT condition, 16K miles, Moroccan Red Pearl/Ebony-silver

$30K

That's what they are going for in the Tri-State NY area.

the car is CPO - so wouldn't a full extended warranty be somewhat redundant? I know i don't have full coverage to 100k....but I've got the major stuff covered until 100k already..

the only drawback i noticed on the car was the driver's seat seemed to "move'...like when I drove it, I coudl feel the seat rock up/down. I didn't bother to get under the seat and look if a bolt was missing as it was a test drive and I wasn't ready to buy...but now that I'm thinking of making an offer - is this some kind of common problem on these cars. or is this some sort of indication of problems like the seats have been in/out of the car due ot somethign else or crash damage or just a loose bolt somwhere?

If it's CPO they need to show you the car fax which should show you if it has been in an accident.

In any event, have them fix the seat.

Have they offered you the bumper to bumper warranty extension to 7 years/100k?

There is a TSB for the seat rocking issue. It's in the 3G Garage.

they have not offered me a extension of the bumper to bumper coverage up to 100k.

if they do throw it in that woudl certainly sweeten the pot. is it likely if they won't come donw in price as far as I want, that they would throw in that full bumper to bumper coverage? is that a warranty through Acura or at hird party taht nickel/dimes you on coverage and says "this/that's not covered" or is it like the bumper to bumper and they take good care of you.

what is that type of coverage worth if they tacked it on top of the CPO warranty and I had to pay for it retail?

I'm thining maybe I can get them to come down to 26k easily. 25k might be harder, but they might be willig to throw in some freebies like oil changes, or the warranty,e tc.

$25k is pretty low. you could get that private party, but they will charge you more for the CPO. the dealer i got mine from (still had factory warranty) said they have to pay like $700 to get it CPO so they pass that on to you...

just keep negotiating with them - try to get extras or more on your trade-in, assuming you have one. but you should probably be happy with $26k and some freebies. my 08 type S with 14k on it was listed at $33.5k but i got $4k extra on the trade in. took some doing though

I have NO trade. I have a credit union check, I just fill out the amount and drive off with the car.

I'm looking at a 2007 with 44k miles. it's NOT cpo though. they are asking 23,400.

base or type S? without a trade you will have a hard time getting the price down more than 5-7% off list. $23,400 isn't too bad for non-CPO 07 type S with those miles... you could probably shave off $1k.

I got my 07 TL-S, same EXACT color as HWY's, (MRP), with 12 k miles on it for 31.5. That was June of last year. As a CPO, they extended the warranty 50k miles (to a total of 62k miles) at no cost. Thus, if you're looking at the 25k price range, it'd be a car with at least 30k miles on it, and the CPO should add 50k miles on to that for the warranty.
Remember, you can haggle all you want, and then walk out the door at the last minute, and then bargain for some freebies afterwards. My car had a few spots on the speedo lenses (it was driven by the manager), and I wouldn't take it that way, so they said they'd order me a new lense. I made them take one out of a new car to seal the deal right away, and throw in a bra as well.
Also remember, the service dept is their cash cow, and services don't really cost $90 an hour, so throwing in a few oil changes is not a big deal to them.

I found my MRP TL-S 6MT at a toyota dealer in MA. Worked them down to 24,900 with only 14k on it. I think it was listed for 28. But I used the lack of CPO to my advantage. Also, I think Toyota dealers are soft. In my experience, they have been easy to bargain with.

good deal. did you have a trade they jacked you on to get hte selling price down, or was that a straight sale - no other variables involved?

great price!! that is more like what I was expecting to pay for an 08 w/ super low miles...

honestly...the 335is are selling in the low low 30s....and if all things are equal, i'd rather have that car - it's a LOT faster.... but bang for the buck, the TL-S is a better car..but if dealers won't come down in price, it's like - why pay inflated prices?j one year ago I almost bought a TL-S new when they still had lots of08s on the lots..I had Cerritos Acura - in writing - offer me one at $31,500. so now I see used 08s and they ask $35k and I'm like what a joke... i'd honeslty not want to pay more than around 28k for a low mileage CPO 08. glad to see it can be done....

for 28k there's no way I'd get a similarly equipped, low low mileage 335i..they woudl want 35-37k for that.... esaily...and for that 10k spread no way woudl i spend the money for the bimmer... i'd much rather hnave the TL and save the money. for daily driving and what I need it for, they are both FAST enough....

thanks for the update! maybe ishoudl go look at hte ;few local dealers who have 08 CPO with low low miles and just say 28k and be serious..and if they play games and jerk me around and say the lowest they can go is 31 or 32, then just leave. i have NO PROBLEM walkkng out.... i am NOT an emotional impulse buyer....

I am impressed with some of the deals you all got.

I shopped 07/08 CPO TL Ss for 2 months and the lowest I found within reasonable driving distance (250 miles) of the NYC area was $29.7K for a 07 with 25K.

Wow, looks like I was good to walk away from the car I was trying to work a deal on today.

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...d=1374438&ct=c

That's the car, and that's the price I worked them down to after about 3 hours (ironically they updated it on Autotrader before I even got home). They originally had it listed at $34,995 which was obviously a joke.

They literally almost chased me out of the dealership for trying to get them lower than $30,760, and they were not giving me what I wanted on the trade (2005 Mazdaspeed MX-5).

That on top of the fact that the car is not perfect cosmetically (although they were going to fix the badly curbed wheels on the right side), and has the 3rd gear pop out issue I've read about on these forums (which they were obviously going to fix).

The car had been on their lot for 51 days and he said he'd rather trade it off to another dealer than go any lower. Is this dealer completely insane or is he just hiding the fact that he got raped at auction and has way too much in the car himself? Also, Acura's CPO process must be kind of a joke if they'll CPO a car with two curbed wheels (the front one is BAD) and the tranny issue.

Thanks guys, sorry for the ninja post with no introduction.

Miles are high for the year. IMO, the price still sucks at $30k, especially for that mileage. They were selling them NEW for $32-$33k last summer.

I wholeheartedly agree, especially after reading this post. It's a bummer because it's the only one within 5 hours in any direction. I can only reach the conclusion he lost his ass at auction on this car and would literally be losing money on it if he gave it to me any cheaper. I've rarely seen a dealer that was literally unwilling to sell a car for any less than $2,000+ over book, especially one that's been kicking around in inventory for 2 months.

What a suckfest. I totally struck out looking at S4's too, which was the other car I was considering (probably blasphemy on this site ).

i paid about the same for the same car (NBP) but with 14k miles. took me all weekend to get to that price, they wanted $33,500. brand new they listed for what, $38k? finally they tacked on $4k over KBB to my trade and i knew they weren't going any lower... it's a pain but at least the TL holds its value over time.

got lucky and found mine at the local dealer after searching all over the east coast and even north (ohio, etc.). they hadn't even gotten it out of the garage yet when i called about a different type-S

Well these jokers are giving me pretty much exactly book value on my trade, to boot, knowing full well they can make $2,000-$3,000 on it this week. Hence, I've put my car up for private party sale, however I'm going to be in trouble if it sells and I can't find anything worthwhile in the area for a few weeks.

I agree totally on the prices they are asking being RIDICULOUS.

I almost bought a Type S in late 08 when the dealers still had them new on the lots. I had TWO so cal dealers email me written offers to buy/lease at $31,500 for a BRAND NEW 2008 TL-S. Cerritos Acura and Tustin Acura. $31,500.

how they can now ask for that and MORE for a used one with 15k+_ miles is a joke!

a car that rolls off hte lot and then has 15k miles on it shoudl drop in value a good % the first year. 10% at least... i'm thinking a used 2008 TL-S with 15k shoudl sell for more like 27-28k. of course some sucker will pay more so the dealers will hold out for that sucker...

won't be me..

It depends what the starting price is... but it is very realistic to walk away with a car for 3-4 k less than they are asking.

Fine with me! keeps the value nice and high. Why depreciate the value of our own cars?
Speaking of that there was an 08 CBP TL-S at Continental Acura here in Naperville, IL. They were asking $34,500 lololol it had 13,000 miles. Thought you might get a kick out of that

The problem is, the car is in pretty poor condition to be commanding the kind of premium they're looking to get. I have little doubt they will end up trading this off to another dealer if it's already been sitting 51 days. Although there is a sucker born every minute, maybe they'll get lucky.

The search continues.
