SH Hybrid pricing question

What's a good price these days on a 16 Sport Hybrid Advance? There are a handful at the local dealer in VA. Thanks

I seems to vary depending on the dealer and how eager they are to move it. But since the 2017 models are out (and with some reporting fair discounts) I would aim for $10K off sticker.

McGrath Acura in Chicago has one on their Used section (I can't seem to paste a link to the website) listed for $49,881 Stock L4866. It is listed as a 2016 Sport Hybrid BASE AWD, however, in the description below it indicates it has a Krell Audio, which, as you know, is the Advance package. It has 981 miles per the page.

I am 99% sure this is the beige one I also looked at before deciding to purchase one of the Graphite Acura "test cars". They said it was identical to the one I bought but just different color (Hybrid Advance). I wish I could give you a 100% it was an Advance but I just can't be positive.

It had some scratches on the interior near the push button transmission and was a bit unkept. The salesperson thought it may have been driven by one of owners / managers. It just needed a good detailing. But it did not look like that scratch was going to buff out and it would have driven me crazy looking at it whenever I got in the car. I'm sure it's an easy swap out to a new trim piece. I prefer this car in a darker color.

Regardless, Holly Jack helped me at McGrath and she was great to deal with. But please be aware, that it doesn't appear McGrath updates their website very often as the car I purchased was on their website for sale for over a month after I purchased it! Therefore it may already be sold....

Los Gatos Acura has one for about $57K (on autotrader but it's listed at $38k on their website but I got a feeling that pricing is incorrect. It's listed as having only 5 miles but its now an active Service Loaner)..... Yes, I was seriously thinking that if I could get another one for the same price I paid for mine, I would buy it, crazy for sure. Good Luck!

PS This listing is right below a "used" 2017 NSX priced at $188,999 with 105 miles. When I was there, it was roped off with a $20k "market adjustment". They wouldn't let me sit in it..... phooey!

I'm thinking of trading/selling my TL SH-AWD. I would really like to get a used Sport Hybrid. Here in the Oklahoma/Texas area the Sport Hybrid is like a unicorn, a mythical animal never seen. I may just go with the conventional RLX. Need to go drive one to see if thats the route I'm going to go.

Don't bother with the decaf RLX. Travel and get the Sport Hybrid. It will be a great decision. Just remember to bring your "flight suit".

I recently purchased a grey/black 2016 Advance Sport Hybrid with tint and the normal complement of aftermarket closers (all-weather mats, door guards, wheel locks) for just under $56,000. I paid a couple hundred bucks more than par for dealer fees (about $500, if I recall correctly) but with sales tax, tag, tile and fees I was out door for just over $60,000. It was a "Tranche 2" build with a relatively high VIN (upper 300's). I felt like that was an exceptional deal, but I was in right place at right time - December 31st at 3pm, with cash. In discussions with a couple of dealers I learned that Acura was offering big behind-scenes incentives, especially because of high exchange rate (USD:Yen) and annual sales targets. Same dealer (in Tempe) was offering $12K discount on a P-AWS with Technology. That was hard to pass up but we don't need two!

Agreed. When I bought mine I had it shipped from IL to CT for about $600 and took 3 days. It has been well worth it...

I would suggest you test drive both before deciding on which is right for you. I would steer away from a 2014 P-AWS because of the suspension performance (or lack thereof) - however the P-AWS model with the proper TSB's done may be OK for you.

I'm going to honest - I've never been a fan of the term "decaf" RLX - it's a very capable vehicle with many shared luxury amenities found in the SH. Yes it's not a SH, but it's still not cheap by any stretch of the imagination.

I currently drive a 2014 Advance P-AWS and I wasn't thrilled with the suspension (also coming from a TL SH-AWD) and I also had some issues which seemed to be isolated to my particular vehicle.

That all said, I am trading it in on Friday this week when I pick up a low mileage 2015 Sport Hybrid Advance - which is why I suggested a test drive. The driving characteristics and handling which I loved in my TL were missing in the P-AWS but very much present in the SH. The entire driving experience in the SH is different in a very good way. 5 more sleeps for me!

I am going to be test driving a SH this week to feel the difference myself. My current 2014 P-AWS is a very nice car. The front suspension was giving me issues but the are replacing it under warranty. I have seen the 2016 SH Advance going for $50,000 new pretty consistently.

My intent at humor by noting "decaf" was not intended to slight anyone. My apologies if it offended anyone. Maybe I should have described the SH as "caffeinated" instead? Just a little levity.

This forum is great. On a BMW, MB or Audi forum somebody WOULD have been offended by "decaf" and would have called you a "friggin idiot scumbag". You would have responded by telling him to stick his car in his ear. It would have gone downhill from there.

I think that decaf is an appropriate description and isn't a slight - just like drinking decaf is perfectly fine. The P-AWS version are perfectly good cars. While is little that makes it a class leader, it is certainly a step up in the reliability (2014 kind of excepted) from the Germans and can be a great buy. OTOH, the SH Hybrid has some features not found in other cars in that price range that make it stand out.

Unfortunately, my local dealer still thinks that 2016 SH RLX's still command a premium and won't budge from about $60k for the Advance. For a couple of grand more I can get an 4matic E series with the package 3 (basically every toy available including that snazzy instrument panel and advanced driving aids).

No one is paying $60k for a 2016 Advance. A few dealers here in Ohio have sold a few for $50k brand new. If I were you I would expand your search radius and fly to a different state and buy if you have to for the price. I used to be on bimmerfest forum and yeah some of that crowd are a bit stuck up-ish lol.

it will be interesting to see what the new Hybrid MDX goes for. I priced one out to $59K. I'm assuming they will sell better than RLX

Please correct me if my assumption is wrong, but I believe ceb is in Canada? Canada only has SH version of the RLX (2016+) and the volume is significantly smaller than the US. The dealer thinks he has something worth holding on to for more $$$ - their choice.

If I am incorrect, ceb, and you are in the USA, why not locate one you want at these significant discounts and have it shipped or dealer swapped? Even a fly & drive home is cost effective at these prices.

I am reading discounts on 2017 SHs already - so if you wait into summer, you will likely get the same discounts we are seeing on the 2016 'leftovers'.

I am reading April availability for the MDX SH. Depending on how many people indicated purchase interest, there may be some demand to be satisfied before discounts are considered. There are a couple factors with the MDX SH that may make it perform differently than the RLX SH sales (and discounts).
1) Though still a 'slow build' vehicle with a lot of hand assembly, the MDX SH will be built 'locally' and the order to delivery window is decreased. Currency exchange has less impact. And no Customs hurdles to leap. But if they build out the MDX SHs as are the RLX SH it may again a game or playing matchmaker to desired config with who has that in scheduled inventory.
2) The MDX's popularity will likely shed more light on the SH product.
3) The MDX costs much less than the RLX SH and perceived by many as more car.
4) The MDX is already the value leader in the segment - add to it the SH feature and it may steal the buyers from the segments competitor hybrid versions. We are seeing that take place with the RLX SH market segment.

you are probably right. I thought I saw someone say RLX Advance was 60K sticker, but that seems wrong or I misread

Regarding rumors of $50K sales price for new, un-titled 2016 RLX Sport Hybrid Advance ....

Collegially .... Bullshit. With a smile.

Or maybe I'm wrong. But has anyone here paid this without wildly lop-sided trade-in or financing?

On New Year's Eve 2013 my transaction for $54,000 was done for a Tech. I'm not sure I would have gone with the Advance if I were doing it today, but if the price were right maybe I would have. $50k for an Advance would be outrageous. I toyed with buying a second one, but I think that when the new version comes out, if it is what I hope it to be, I will buy that as a second. I'm trying to secure a Sport Hybrid MDX for the summer and trade in my current MDX. My dealer will work with me to do it if I can find one in a color I like.

It's not rumor, I personally was offered at the acura dealership in Cleveland $50k for a 2016 RLX Sport Hybrid Advance. It had 56miles on it and it was black on black. That was in the end of January, the end of last month I could have purchased a White with Seacoast interior for the same price. But I am only looking for a white exterior with ebony interior. On autotrader there are a few that give the msrp but if you call them you can get the real pricing the are selling it and it's not $60k.

Might be worth the road trip or shipping costs?

"Offered. " >> That's not the same as signed sealed and delivered.

So I'm still (collegially) looking for a real live human being who snagged a new untitled SH Advance for fifty large. There's at least one CPO with super low mileage for ~$50k in this Forum and that is a superb deal. And I know my dealer sold a new P-AWS w Tech Package for $45K. That's a good deal too. But I'll be surprised (and WRONG, collegially) to learn about a $50K Advance SH.

Just saying.

I pulled up some notes that I used back during my purchase in December. This information from TrueCar.com is about three months old, but it is part of the homework I did when shopping for my 2016 Advance SH. In my opinion it is pretty accurate. I've also heard from a dealer in Scottsdale that the current "market price" for a 2017 Advance is about $62.5K + tax tag title and dealer fees, but take that with a grain of salt... it was an offhand comment and not the result of a real negotiation.however it's pretty consistent with the data below.

2016 Advance Sport Hybrid (Mid-Dec 2016 Data)
Exceptional Price Less than $57,926
Great Price Less than $60,699
Good Price Less than $62,677
Above Market $62,677
MSRP $66,890
Market Average $61,080
Factory Invoice $61,877

Crooks because they didn't get back to you on a price??? Wow..... maybe they sold the car? Maybe the salesguy is no longer with the dealership? Maybe...... I don't know the full story, I hope?
I dealt with McGrath and they were pretty straight forward with me and the saleslady was great and they mailed me the We Owe accessories per our agreement.
YMMV, I guess.

Yes crooks, correct, playing stupid games. Never had that kind problems with Continental Naperville or Libertyvile Acura.
My personal experience was not so good with Chicago and Westmont locations.
I am sure you had great experience and I am happy for you. But there is no need to take my experience personally.

I was actually talking to McGrath a week or so and they wouldn't give me a straight answer or numbers. They was pretty straight forward but constantly given the "oh we will see" routine. So I walked away from that dealership. I hate it when a dealer thinks he knows more then me and I know nothing even worse when I prove to them how much they can't screw me over because I have played their game many time before.

I had a dealer quote me 42897

I told him to email the quote to me and I will give my deposit. He later called and said that was for an rlx base tech the hybrid advance is 52897 and he apologized for the mistake. I was so excited then disappointed.

^^ Classic low-ball dealer conduct. "Great price, please put it in writing." "Oh wait, you want it in writing? I made a mistake."

Uggh. This is why I only buy cars over the phone/email -- to minimize these maddening wastes of my time.

That said, 52.9 is not a bad starting point for an SH Advance. You might be able to do better if you can hold your nose and continue dealing with these folks.

I already have offers lower but all if I want my color preference these choices require flying and driving the car for 1500-2000 miles or having it shipped. I am in California and there is only one dealer demo hybrid not my first color choice in this state with just under 6k miles on it. They want low 50s lol. I told them mid 40s as I have low 50s offers brand new. They said they will hold it as someone will buy it. The car was detailed and clean but had spider webs on the fenders. I thought it was scratches at first then I saw it was webs. On both driver sides. I found one with 900 mikes on it less than 1000 miles away so a one day trip but they vlaim its all test drive miles. Thats 100 test drives. Not sure I but that given the little interest in this car
