RTC Acuators ( P-AWS) moaning

Occasional moaning coming from the rear of the '14 RLX PAWS - 19,000 miles. I suspect it is the issue described in TSB 13-041 ( revised April '15).

The revision seems to indicate that the actuator parts were changed.

Has anyone had this repair done ?

Had it done twice - I currently have 25xxx miles. The second time was due to actuator parts being changed; first time was early on in the intial TSB.

I had the actuator work performed at 38k miles. I would hear the moan when traveling at very low speeds and turning.

My local dealership fixed the problem and now everything appears to be fine. I currently have 41k miles so it's been fairly recent.

Thanks to those who responded.

I was hoping to make it through the summer without another problem. I guess it is not possible since I am driving an experimental vehicle !

R. White, I'm not sure how long the actual repair takes, but in my case the dealer gave me a loaner so it wasn't too much of an inconvenience.

I took the car in last week. Mechanic couldn't hear the moaning/rubbing so there was no repair. Another dance like the three trips to get the suspension fixed I suspect.

Next time have Tech ride with you around dealer lot, at slow speed (5 - 10 mph; that is the key). They won't make noise in reverse.

What they're going to say is that if they can't duplicate it, they're not sure they'd necessarily even be fixing the right thing.

Duplicate it for yourself, first, and decide under exactly what circumstances it is happening.

And as miner said, then go and drive yourself in the manner you are sure is required to cause the noise.

:-)

I have recall/repair fatigue with is vehicle. Twelve trips back to the dealer so far. I am not going to negotiate repairs with them. Let's see what happens.
