RLX Sightings

With the exception of people who have bought a new RLX, has anyone seen one on the road yet?

silver3.5 04-29-2013 03:50 PM

I live about 5 miles from my local Acura dealer and drive around that area everyday and have not seen one on the road yet!

2011TL 04-29-2013 04:04 PM

Haven't seen any in Northern Virginia, but there are 16 in inventory at my Dealer - Pohanka

jhr3uva90 04-29-2013 04:06 PM

I doubt if I'll ever see any near Oakland or Berkeley.

H_CAR 04-29-2013 04:40 PM

I saw one in GLM since introduction on March 15th.

Colin 04-29-2013 07:13 PM

Really funny, I actually saw my customer on the road the other day. I gave her a quick phone call to tell her "hi" and check on how she was coming along with the new car.

neuronbob 04-29-2013 07:59 PM

I haven't seen a single one since the Cleveland Auto Show.

Oddly, I have seen three ILXs in the last 24 hours, though. They appear to be selling like hotcakes here in Cleveland.

Treblig 04-29-2013 08:36 PM

None on the road yet, besides the one I test drove recently. Although my dealer has one that is a sold unit.

weather 04-29-2013 08:53 PM

They are not released here in Canada yet so I haven't seen any either, heck, never even seen the car in the flesh yet :( I will say this, where I live, seeing an Acura is extremely rare (except for the MDX which I think there is 5 or 6) so if I ever bought an RLX, I would be given the keys to the city due to the exclusive car I would be driving *lol*

I will say this, I am really eager to see the RLX in person though.....

Really? Weather, Acura is rare in your neck of the wood? I see quite a few 4G TL's here, and TONS of MDX here in Calgary - it's like everybody and their mother has an MDX around here! LOL! Must have to do with the weather here (no pun intended! LOL)

I would love to see the RLX in person and then decide for myself how I like the exterior styling! ;-)

Ken1997TL 04-30-2013 01:43 AM

I've seen several, but then Acuras seem to be quite popular here.

GoHawks 04-30-2013 09:48 AM

Nothing in the Detroit Metro area.

JT4 04-30-2013 10:40 AM

Besides the two at the dealer, I have not seen one RLX on the road yet in the NYC / LI area.

MDX's however are all over.

03tLsNBP 04-30-2013 04:18 PM

Same, have not seen one in the NY/LI area yet.

atruedsgb 04-30-2013 08:56 PM

I've seen two on the road, in the Atlanta area.

getakey 05-03-2013 08:39 PM

I still have not seen one and I commute close to an hour each way
Today had extended lunch in SF outside on the Embarcadero. I'd say several 1000 cars drove by. Not 1 RLX. Hard to believe

KeithL 05-03-2013 09:00 PM

They sold 736 cars nationwide so they will be rare. New Accord sold like 200,000 cars and I only see 1-4 a day

hondamore 05-03-2013 10:31 PM

To be honest, the fact that the RLX likely won't sell in big numbers is a positive factor in my choice to buy one. I'd rather drive a car that you don't see on every street corner even if that exclusivity is not necessarily planned or desired by the manufacturer.

To stay on topic, I don't think the RLX has even been delivered to dealers in Canada yet and so, no sightings to report.

WheelMcCoy 05-03-2013 11:10 PM

Another nada from the NYC area. But I have seen 2 Karma Fiskers, 1 Tesla (I think), and 2 Mazda6s. Either the RLX is a rare car or there's a cloaking device for the top level trim.

getakey 05-03-2013 11:22 PM

There are 5 Tesla S's that I see in my neighborhood alone

I have seen a couple of Karma Fiskers and a ton of the new Mazda 6s

Finally

Just saw my 1st 1 in the wild. It was in passing so I could only tell that it was black.

I suspect that I know who it belongs to: there is a guy that works in another department that had a 2005 RL which he traded for a 2009 RL. I was wondering if he was going to get a 2014 RLX ... since this 1 came from the direction of his job I think that it is him.

TSX69 05-10-2013 10:07 PM

#2

I was waiting at a stop sign & for a car to pull out of a driveway; I did not take note of what the car was but as soon as it turned towards me I immediately noticed the jewel eye headlights. Someone down the street from me bought an RLX - Gilded Pewter color.

All 3 dealerships in my area have actually been selling them (1 of them has only 1 left). I am pleasantly surprised as I thought it would be more like the ZDX or 2009 RL which sat on the lots for months.

I finally saw an RLX on the road yesterday.. GL with base wheels..

I'm starting to like the styling more and more.. Not the wheels :ugh:

I'm not sure if that is a good thing that it seemed anonymous (my words) until you saw the headlights.

justnspace 05-12-2013 02:41 PM

Saw this yesterday:

To be fair I was not paying any attention to what type of car it was, I was at a stop signing waiting for a traffic opening so I could make a left turn. So my mind was kind of focused on driving but those headlights are hard to miss even when you are not paying attention.

However, I will say that they RLX is pretty bland from the side - but I think that most cars are, especially when in motion and you cannot see the rims. It is usually the grille & front/rear lights that catch my eye.

I agree.

weather 05-12-2013 06:03 PM

I also agree....all Acura vehicles look good in white. I cannot see myself buying any other color on any vehicles....White is the shits! :)

H_CAR 05-12-2013 06:10 PM

What'd you think?

ScottBjorn3D 05-12-2013 06:11 PM

That looks just like our but without the body side molding.

justnspace 05-12-2013 07:13 PM

Honestly; I didnt know it was the RLX.

He was behind then took the middle lane to over take me to come to the red light.(pictured above)
I sat behind it a good minute before realizing what it was.
I quickly grabbed the DLSR in the passenger seat and just started snapping away.

Bland from the back,as it took me a minute to figure it out.

as the light went green, I took the middle lane and gassed it a little, so now that I'm in front one lane over from him.
this is where I stuck the cam out the window and clicked.

ITS GORGEOUS from the front! I love it!

the picture where he's in the middle lane; shows off the beautiful head light housing. I love the angles.

jhr3uva90 05-12-2013 07:25 PM

I wish they made this car in blue.

justnspace 05-12-2013 10:24 PM

you know what, it looks like a bigger ILX.

so stupid Acura.
Bring back the Japanese designers

jhr3uva90 05-12-2013 10:40 PM

Aren't cars within the same brand supposed to resemble each other? Don't the BMW 3, 5, 7 series resemble?

JM2010 SH-AWD 05-13-2013 10:16 PM

Saw a CBP RLX leaving my subdivision this evening. Very nice looking car. Not a car for the "look at me" crowd, but it was very attractive in a subtle and conservative way.

ostrich 05-13-2013 10:47 PM

Yeah, the white RLX is nice looking!

I personally would like the RLX to be less bland and less conservative looking. However, I can see why some folks would love its looks....
