“For the first time in our company's history, the Honda brand is on pace this year to sell more light trucks than passenger cars,” said Henio Arcangeli Jr., senior vice president of the American Honda Automobile Division. “Honda's unique flexibility within our U.S. manufacturing operations has played a critical role in our ability to adjust our production mix and capitalize on the market's shift toward light trucks.”

BRAND REPORT
Sales Highlights

While one less sales weekend than the same period in 2017 led in part to a dip in sales, customers showed a preference for the brand's light trucks including the refreshed-for-2019 Pilot and HR-V, and hot-selling CR-V.
  • With the refreshed 2019 Pilot going on sale July 16, Honda's three-row SUV extended its winning streak of sales increases to 11 straight months, jumping 30.5% on sales of 13,026 vehicles.
  • CR-V delivered again in July with sales of 32,844 units, an increase of 3.4%.
  • Despite the shorter sales month and tight supplies, Civic sales remained strong in July with more than 26,000 units sold.
  • Sales of the brand-new Honda Insight jumped out to a strong start with 1,972 units sold in its first full month on the market.

Model Notes
As the retail best-selling car in America in 2016, 2017 and 2018, Civic is in a race with itself as Honda continues to prove that America still loves a topnotch passenger car.

The 2019 refresh of Pilot adds more rugged character to Honda's sophisticated 3-row SUV, which is seeing big sales increases with a dedicated production line in Alabama.
BRAND REPORT
Sales Highlights

Acura light trucks returned as a 1-2 punch powerhouse with the new RDX posting a 2nd consecutive monthly sales record and MDX contributing strong sales boosted by a refreshed 2019 model that entered the market on July 17.
  • RDX sales totaled 5,784 for the month — a new July record.
  • The just-refreshed MDX, with a new A-Spec variant for 2019, helped the perennial best-seller to more than 4,300 sales in July.
Model Notes
Last year's update to the TLX, including the A-Spec model, has been well received by the market, with TLX outselling BMW 3-Series and Audi A4 on a retail basis in the 1st half of 2018.

The addition of Acura's A-Spec package to the 2019 MDX lineup adds a new dimension to America's all-time best-selling 3-row luxury SUV.

Beat me to it, TSX69. RLX is (relatively speaking) on FIRE since the MMC. Can't wait to see the hybrid numbers.

Some days I wish I had grabbed the 18 Hybrid instead of the TLX ASPEC, but is do love how my ASPEC looks. They need to to a new RLX, offer 2 maybe 3 trims, all Sport Hybrid and make a ASPEC trim and then the Advance, if they feel they can do a Tech Hybrid at a good price point then that would be 3. I would be in as long as head unit is updated, precision cockpit with full LCD cluster.

Im gonna keep supporting your move on getting the TLX instead.

I'm wondering how many of those units sold are 2014-2017 models selling for pennies. I haven't seen a single MMC yet on the roads, but am starting to see more pre-MMC units. Not that's any emperical form of measurement, just an observation

Yeah, what reminds me I did right move was even updates head unit in 19 TLX has serious issues and I plug my phone in and hit SmartPhone button and realize how bad Acura’s head units are and how good Android Auto is. Acura’s voice recognition was great in 2004, but has not gotten any better and now google is so good it is true natural language interface.

Disappointed at the sales numbers.

Despite great reviews for the Accord, Insight, Clarity, CR-V, Civic, RDX.... It is not enough.

Yup, I remember how damn good the NAV system was in my 2006 3G TL 6spd, and then wondering what the hell happened when I switched to my 14 RLX. It was like going back to an Intel 386DX...but everyone here has heard that old story from me good and well

I can't wait to try out the new system in the RDX, the screenshots alone looks pretty damn slick. Looks like they finally hired some good in-house UI / UX programmers

That's because the Audi is coming out with the next generation A6 in very short order so not many are buying the 2018's this late in the game.

The A6 is down for 2 reason, new gen and they had a stop sale for a while there was a recall that prevented them from selling a large portion of landed cars. I know when I went to dealer over summer he had only 1 A6 they could offer me and offered me $10K off, unfortunately it was no in the color or features I wanted. But I am encouraged that the RLX is picking up, a refreshed model with precision cockpit and some better styling and suspension and I am in.

It is because of their shitty leasing program. Why would you wanna lease a A6 2.0T when you can get 540i for the same price? or A6 3.0T when you can get the fucking M550i for the same price.

"We enter the final quarter of the year in a very strong position across our passenger car and light-truck lineups, putting us in striking distance of a fourth consecutive year of record sales for the Honda and Acura brands combined," said Henio Arcangeli Jr., senior vice president of the American Honda Automobile Division.

BRAND REPORT Sales Highlights

Honda trucks continued to build strong momentum in September, with record total sales and strong performances across the lineup. While car sales ceded some ground to trucks, the strength of Honda passenger cars has pushed them to the top of industry retail market share, despite tight supplies of key models.
  • Honda Pilot jumped 50.2% in September on sales of 15,464 units.
  • CR-V sales topped 30,000 units for the month, just shy of another record.
  • With gas prices topping $4.00/gallon in parts of the U.S., sales of Honda electrified vehicles continue to rise, with Accord Hybrid, Insight and Clarity Plug-in Hybrid combining for nearly 6,000 September deliveries.
Model Notes

Honda is the only brand in America to earn an IIHS TOP SAFETY PICKacross car, SUV, minivan and pickup models, including the 2019 Insight.

With Accord, Civic and Fit, Honda has topped all other brands in combined retail passenger car sales in the three largest mainstream car segments in the first 8 months of 2018.

BRAND REPORT Sales Highlights

The new RDX continued to break sales records and combined with strong MDX sales to set a new September record for Acura trucks.
  • RDX set its 4th straight monthly sales mark since launching in June. Sales totaled 5,699 for the month, a gain of 54.3%.
  • Acura's flagship luxury SUV, the MDX, turned in another strong performance with sales of 4,643 units in September.
  • The refreshed and re-energized 2019 ILX goes on sale later this month.
Model Notes

The refreshed 2019 ILX completes the first phase of the Acura brand design transformation with all core models sporting the signature Diamond Pentagon Grille and an A-Spec model.

Acura's revolutionary True Touchpad™ Interface is a hit with RDX customers and won praise from the editors at Ward's, who said it's "everything you could want in a user experience."

I was at my dealer a few days ago and in the showroom was a white with black gut. Beautiful car. Edmunds review on the '19.
I didn't ask but I'm sure it's discounted big. Not so much like the $12K off a loaded model a year or two ago but I would think at least 10%.

Pros
  • Sport Hybrid model offers fast, fuel-efficient acceleration
  • Long list of standard safety and convenience features
  • Spacious cabin and seating, especially for rear passengers
Cons
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto aren't available
  • Steering feels disconnected from the road
  • Interior design looks dated
  • Dual-screen infotainment system isn't intuitive to use

Fortunately, my language was not against somebody but a car.
Also maybe i am wrong, but generally if what is not allowed is not listed, it means it is.

Pros
  • Sport Hybrid model offers fast, fuel-efficient acceleration
  • Long list of standard safety and convenience features
  • Spacious cabin and seating, especially for rear passengers
  • Can be made faster than an M5 with neck breaking, reality bending and time traveling ability when equipped with upgraded tires.
Cons

  • Steering feels disconnected from the road
  • Interior design looks dated
  • Dual-screen infotainment system isn't intuitive to use
  • it does not look $60k

Finally raising my head from the grindstone after catching up at work the last week, after a cross-country drive for NSXPO (check my Instagram look for a few pics from NSXPO)!

Glad RLX sales are improving. The new look seems to be helping somewhat. Still disappointed that CarPlay isn't available. The RLX is now the only car in the Acura lineup without that functionality. It's even more disappointing now that iOS 12 allows for the use of Waze and Google Maps. I am now running Waze on a daily basis in my TLX! Woohoo! You can install aftermarket iPhone/Android mirroring hardware into the RLX, but that requires removal of a significant portion of the interior. I know, because I started the process on my RLX while I still had it, and decided to stop beause the system I bought (NavTool) ultimately required splicing wires...and it wasn't worth it for a leased car.

    • Acura trucks set a new October sales record, rising 15.1% on sales of 10,148 vehicles.
      • Sales of the gateway model ILX topped 1,000 units for a 3% gain just as the redesigned and lower-priced 2019 model has begun arriving in Acura showrooms.

Model Notes

The Fit is down so much mostly because the plant flooded and went down.

Nobody has many Fits to sell.

I've given up getting this car, we're talking lease numbers in the thousands for the advance

My sales rep believes it's going to be discontinued which sucks because coming from a 4g TL going to a TLX is kind of backwards, at-least in regards to size

The 4G TL was a high point in many ways. It is a shame the styling was so polarizing.

An uncompetitive lease is insanity at these sales levels. I'm sure there's another dealer who's willing to deal.

"We are thrilled to have the Honda Insight and Acura RDX named as finalists for the 2019 North American Car- and Utility- of the Year awards, an honor that reinforces the success each vehicle is enjoying with a record number of new customers," said Henio Arcangeli Jr., senior vice president of the American Honda Automobile Division. "With the RDX setting new sales records each month and the Insight helping Honda set a new sales mark for electrified vehicles, we are pleased to have each vehicle in contention for these prestigious awards."
BRAND REPORT
Sales HighlightsHonda sedans drew strength in November from notably improved Accord sales while electrified vehicles surpassed 5,000 in sales for the fifth straight month—further enhancing a record year for electrified vehicle sales.
  • Accord remained strong in a challenging segment, gaining 1.6% on sales of 23,367 for the month.
  • Insight, Accord Hybrid and Clarity again combined for over 5,000 sales in November, while Insight was honored as Green Car Journal's Green Car of the Year.
  • Honda truck sales worked to overcome inventory issues, with Odyssey continuing its retail dominance and gaining 3.8% on sales of 8,123 units, while Pilot topped 10,000 in sales for the 13th straight month.
Model Notes
America's "Best SUV Brand" just got even better with the announcement of Honda's fourth SUV, the personal, powerful and off-road capable Honda Passport, launching early in 2019.
The 2019 Insight, now a 2019 North America Car of the Year finalist, has led Honda to a new all-time record for electrified vehicle sales with a month left to go in the year.

BRAND REPORT
Sales HighlightsThe 2019 RDX scored its 6th straight monthly sales record, combining with rising sales of the newly refreshed ILX to push Acura to across-the-board increases for brand, passenger cars and trucks in November. Acura trucks also gained a new record for the month.
  • Acura brand sales gained a total of 10.5% in November, with cars up 2.2% and trucks rising 13.8%.
  • The award-winning 2019 RDX jumped 57.6% on sales of 5,951 units for its best-ever November.
  • ILX, fresh from its 2019 redesign, gained 27.5% on sales of 1,051 units, even as production of the new model continues to ramp up.
Model Notes
With six straight record months, the new RDX is the top retail-selling model in luxury's largest segment and a finalist for 2019 North American Utility of the Year.
A-Spec has become one of the most sought-after packages in the TLX lineup. It's now available on ILX and all SUVs.

I wonder if the continued increase in RLX sales [although from a pitiful number], is enough for Acura to finally do a MMC and upgrade the RLX. Some new tech in the infotainment system would be a big step up and perhaps some new styling and other goodies. My 2014 Sport Hybrid is now 4+ yrs. old and I am itching for my next car.

Does anyone think that the Hybrid is yesterday's story and that they are now concentrating on an all electric sedan like Audi and other mfg?

I wish they still reported the Sport Hybrid/non hybrid breakdown but I will bet that the hybrid is an increasing % of the total RLX sales.

RLX hybrid or not has always been yesterday's story. Unless you upgrade the tires, then it becomes tomorrow's story. But no matter what you do, it is never relevant in present.

The car on sale right now *is* the MMC. 0_o

I can't see them doing anything more until it's time for an all new Legend employing some kind of serial hybrid.

If you've driven an Insight or a current generation Accord Hybrid, you know it's a whole new world of better drivability. They just have to figure out how to have a 400 HP serial hybrid with some kind of SH-AWD.

That's if they don't abandon sedans altogether, as Ford and GM have already done.

Gulp . . . . . . .Seems like someone needs to stay in the mid to high end non-euro sedan game. We all are not totally jumping to SUV's/wagons/trucks. Speaking as someone who owns one of each.

George, that will not happen at Honda. Sedans are here to stay. Honda is not Ford. FixOrRepairDaily

And y'all wish me luck in locking down my RLegendoX this month. It's now or never
