Hey RLX community, New RLX owner here. Long time Honda / Acura driver. I’ve had a 90EF hatch 5speed, a 90accord 5 speed, a 98 CL 3.0, a 2003 TL-S, a 2015 ILX 6 speed and just traded that in for the 2014 RLX. Hard going from the ILX to the RLX just because the ILX was really fun to and engaging to drive. Sitting in Bay Area traffic with the 6 speed all day made me change up to an automatic. Went in looking for an MDX, found a good deal on the RLX and was sold.
Wanted to say thanks to the community here for all of the information. I bought my RLX from a dealer and like many here during the test drive thought it was smooth and quiet. First drive in SF and the front was rattling like crazy. I went to one Acura dealer un armed with any detail and was dismissed quickly as they couldn’t hear the noise. I returned to another dealer that was closer to my house armed with a print out of the TSB that I located on this forum and they applied the TSB and replaced both front shocks without any question (brought it in at 49K miles so still under full factory warranty.) I now have the car back with new front shocks and can say that the main rattle is gone for now and it does feel a little tighter. I hope it stays good for a while. Truly enjoy the fit and finish of the ride.

Thanks. he has another black on black just under 700 miles. Black was prettier but white is more practical. In service date was 2 months ago so I get extra 10 months and 11300 miles warranty. I extended warranty to 8yrs 100k for 1965.

thanks. I think maybe the wrap warranty was a mistake. I can cancel it. What do you guys think is it worth it? I already have 58 months 61300 miles of warranty is it worth 2k to extend another 3 yrs and 38000 miles?

Thanks, but mine isn’t an SH Hybrid, had curb rash on one wheel, a small dent in hood, tons of paint chips on the bumper (fixed with Dr ColorChip). After paying $42k for my 2008 RL I felt $37k was fine given the tech features - especially the ACC - even with the blemishes.

Yes. Lesson learned.
Bimmer was awesome to drive when new. Tough on the wallet towards tail end of ownership. Not fun when driving to work on LIE at 4am and car switches to fail-safe mode due to transmission malfunction.
The E class was a tank (safety wise), but was towed to dealer 3x due to air suspension failure--undrivable as the rear wheel wells were making contact with top of the tires when air suspension decided to call it quits. The car was totaled when wrecked with an oncoming commercial truck making a left turn.
I've owned a 07 Interceptor RWB and loved the motor (VTEC) so my wife and I decided to give the MDX a shot in 2010--and haven't looked back ever since!
