Canadians get this?

Buyers get to experience Acura's complimentary maintenance program which is just being introduced with the new RLX. It offers four years or 80,000 km (whichever comes first) of free scheduled maintenance.

Prior to the last 4 years or so, the changes in the Canadian dollar exchange rate meant that Canadians were paying a LOT more for Acura products than our American friends to the south and as such, Acura would often throw in a little "gift" or two to make us feel better about the prices we were paying. For example, my '05 RL with tax and a second set of wheels for my snow tires retailed for about $80,000, so the free maintenance that I got thrown in was a token gift to keep me from realizing that the same car in the U.S. was selling for around $50,000 or less. Acura bumped Canadian prices based on an 80 cent collar (Canadian vs US) and when the Loonie rose, they simply kept the extra profit rather than pass the savings onto Canadian Acura buyers (obviously an oversimplification of the nuances of fluctuating exchange rates but certainly the general consensus among Acura buyers prior to the last couple of years).

This past behavior has now been replaced by the near equal pricing that you can see on the Acura Canada RLX pricing page and is part of the reason that $70,000 for the SHAWD RLX doesn't seem so bad up here (although I will still hold out for a good deal price simply out of principle).

I'm certainly not accustomed to "silver" and "alabaster" being used together as a description for a colour.

It seems to me they'd be mutually exclusive.

It's not like it costs them much. :-) A modern Honda doesn't need much, basically just periodic oil changes, an occasional transmission oil change and engine and cabin filter changes.

Consumer Reports has Acura at the #2 spot for all time reliability, with Lexus the only brand ahead of it.

The only time I have seen an RLX (in Canada) is when I take my TL for service at a local dealer. Never seen one on the road. There are thousands of MDXs and TLs out there. I have even started seeing an increased number of ILXs. But an RLX? Never. The RL was a rare car, but still use to see one or two a year (lol), now with the RLX out there I have better chances of seeing a Veyron on the street than an RLX
