Sir,
Unfortunately, I do not believe the rear passenger seats of the RLX are intended to fold down as they are designed. So as you have already observed, there is no lever, visible or otherwise.
My condolences,
P. Earnest Goodman

Mr. Goodman is correct - the back seat in the RLX does NOT fold down. The PAWS version has a pass though "window" behind the armrest that can be used for long, narrow loads. My suspicion is that the RLX is intended as an "executive car" and not a "load hauler" and that is the reason for the omission. That said, I can think of at least a couple instances where a folding rear seat would have been handy for me (but completely impossible in the Sport Hybrid thanks to the hybrid battery location). Alas, my wife's MDX serves the load hauler role more than adequately.

Mr. Space,
In reference to your question; the answer is "yes" the rear seats on the TSX SportWagon do fold flat. There is no horizontally braced structure behind the rear seats. So in theory the wagon trades torsional rigidity for expanded cargo carrying capacity when compared to the sedan.
Thank you for your question,
P. Earnest Goodman.

... and a likely contribution to the demise of Honda and Acura sedans. The sedan has almost been completely replaced by CUVs and hatches. It is hard not to recognize the value of utility and space in a vehicle today. To sell a sedan in today's market, brands recognize the buyer has decided specifically for a sedan. In the past the was a distinction between sedan, coupe, hatch. SUV, van and truck. More so now a person is likely to refer to an SUV or CUV as their 'car'.

Not quite. The TLX has one side that folds down and the ILX has both rear seats that fold down. While the height in the ILX is somewhat limited by the rear dash structure, it definitelty helps expand the rear trunk space and has come in handy a few times for me.

I'm buying mom an ILX next week. Holografique, thank you for your feedback on your experiences with the car. I think she is going to love it.

^ Glad to hear it buddy. While I agree with some of the items pointed out in the recent CR report for the ILX, it has been a great car for us since the first 2013 that the wifey had. We love our 2016's A-Specs and she'll prob keep hers after lease even with me making the eventual move to Audi.
Let us know how it goes with Mom!

The RLX PAWS has a ski-sized passthrough. The Sport Hybrid we are SOL because the battery is located where a passthrough would be. I'm sure the sedan seats don't fold down for structural rigidity reasons....must be a good reason for it. Luckily, the PAWS RLX has a cavernous trunk. The SH they know is much smaller and oddly configured in the rear. Still able to do a combo grocery and Sam's Club run in it, though.

Just some padding and a pull release, which I guess is an emergency rear lid opening? I didn't pull it just in case it was battery access or something else I didn't feel like dealing with when I'm really supposed to be doing something other than this.

I've pulled the lever. It's a trunk release. I know because I had to use it once.

Isn't that where the Dilithium Crystals are stored? Or is it where the 88 Gigawatts come from? Pgeorg what does it say in the magic manual about this? I crack myself up some times. Better keep the day job.

With the speed and handling of the Sport Hybrid, I just assumed the lever behind the rear armrest was for a parachute that rear passengers could deploy when speeds surpassed their comfort zone.
