Production Version SH-AWD

Acura are referring to the production model SH-AWD having an official 0-60 time of 5.0s flat.

They also note here and there that they've changed the J Motor valve timing compared to the pre-production versions.

This gives us a good chance of seeing production version reviews below 5.0 and it's very encouraging.

:-)

With the pre-production cars, reviewers were averaging about 5.4s.

Now if only they would produce more than 1000 of them... for these prices, you can go with a lot of other choices. Ahhhhh Acura you drive me crazy with your business model...

What business model?!? Seriously, if they had one, they wouldn't have the dismal sale figures they do!

I was going off a few days ago about not understanding what the RLX was about, or what it was for, exactly. I liked the car but I didn't understand the economics of it for a number of reasons we've all talked about before, not the least of which is the fact that the chassis has almost nothing in common with any other Honda or Acura model.

"Maybe you should wait until you look under an NSX," was the response.

We already know that the RLX has a backwards version of the NSX's powertrain. That's no secret.

Is there a link to the 5.0? Just asking....

I swear, the anticipation is driving me nuts even though I am sworn to wait out the bugs that are sure to appear.

The Motorweek review of the production car refers to it. :-)

Your dealer should have pricing information now.

I only posted because someone said just yesterday somewhere in here (might have been the TLX forum) that the RLX Hybrid was being sold for nigh on 80,000.

It just isn't.

It's a 4600.00 premium over the RLX Advance, almost exactly the original 66,000 price that we were told way back when. There won't be many of them at first. I'm not even looking until December, by which time the 9 speed TLX SH-AWD should also be around in good numbers.

I'm encouraged because I think that at this price the 5G Legend/3G RLX will suddenly look at lot more attractive, considering the features for the money, 377 HP and 30 mpg.

I'm also hopeful that with the J Motor's computer and valve train retiming we can look forward to reviewers saying that they are getting good acceleration times out of it, too.

is their any official announcement of price?

I would have guessed more than a 4600 premium

Edit: Is that 4600 premium for same advance trim or lower trim?

Over either Tech or Advance; however, I really would not expect to be running across any Tech Packages.

Your dealer should be able to tell you the price he was told.

Flow Acura in Winston-Salem says they will have a hybrid RLX demonstrator mid-April and deliverable cars in June.

Yes, because I went to the local dealer today, and manager told me that SH-AWD RLX is now postponed to June. Oh well...

It could be that Acura has made a small run of SHAWD RLX's to deliver mid-April so that each dealership has one or two as demonstrators - THEN, they can wow their customers and take orders for the larger production run which will reach dealers in June or July. In theory, they can tailor make the production run to the demand so they don't have a whole pile of inventory sitting on the lots causing prices to plummet.

What I am saying is that the previous posters who were told that the RLX SHAWD will arrive in April are correct and the previous posters who were told things will be delayed until June/July are also correct.

Purely speculation on my part basically agreeing with what wstr75 said earlier.
