Pricing on AcuraCare Extended Service Warranty
Does anyone know the market price and cost on the AcuraCare Extended Warranty that is available on new cars less than 6,000 miles? Does anyone one know the best dealer(s) to purchase this from? What are you guys thinking is the over/under for 8 years 100,000 miles ? I would guess $2000.... what would you pay?
UPDATE: Well, I answered my own question. Here's a quote received from a NY Acura dealer advertising online, for the genuine Honda / Acura extended warranty:
ZERO deductible
8 years, 120K Miles $2295
8 years , 100K Miles $2165
7 years, 100K Miles $1615
6 years, 100K miles $1550
What do you think?
The seven year repair costs on my 2010 MDX have been ... zero.

Not sure if the price has changed but I did find quite amount of flexibility when I bought the same terms as you are looking at for 2,150. At the time the list price was 2,700. You can buy it over the phone and never darken the dealers showroom. (At least in CA). After I did my deal for the car, I called around to several dealers and found one who was willing to discount the warranty. Went back to my local dealer and got them to match the price. Make sure though that you are comparing like for like ..... there are different prices depending on the deductible as well as term and mileage. Also, lots of dealers will try to sell you a third party warranty, not Acura one.

You can do better, at least 10% with no tariff if under 6K miles. You may also do better if you buy the maintenance plan simultaneously. PM, if you like or visit Hyannis Honda, very well regarded. I'm still not entirely clear what the VSC, Vehicle Service Contract, that ISN'T covered by AcuraCare doesn't.
As for buying AcuraCare:
IF the car has less than 6K miles, you can add additional yrs/miles up to 8/120K
If it has 6001 miles you can ONLY add up to 5yrs i.e. even IF the car is 3 months OLD, you're only eligible to add 5 yrs if you purchase at that point, NOT 8 but, it does allow for up to 120K miles. Meaning 5.3 yrs total coverage.
Furthermore, you could delay purchasing the 5 yr coverage until the car is say 3 1/2 yrs, and still under the original new car(50K) warranty, to have a total of 8 1/2 yrs coverage, max mileage coverage remains 120K miles. The downside is their are $50-100 incremental tariffs added as the miles go up.
You can buy these anywhere except in Fl.
Several phone calls/emails to definitively clarify the **6K** miles over/under eligibility.
This ISn't one of those YMMV anecdote.
One final tidbit, if you're negotiating with a dealer for an already designated CPO with the standard coverage of 62K miles/5yrs call to get quotes from Hyannis and use that as possible leverage with the selling dealer up to 8yrs/120K miles
This is my strategy, I'm only waffling on 100K vs 120K miles since we rarely do over 10K/yr on one car, WTH, maybe even 80K will suffice!

I purchased the 7/100 since that seemed to be the best "value". That being said, in another thread it indicated the battery and related components have 10 year warranty? I don't recall exact details. Regardless, its peace of mind and given the spanking deal I got, why not?

Service/maintenance
You can only add the maintenance/service(VSC?) if the car has less than 6,000miles for used/CPO. Sometimes the dealers, Bernardi, Hyannis run a special of an extra $100-200 off if you purchase both together, AcuraCare & VSC.

There is some YMMV
I bought my 2012 mdx advance in 2013 as a brand new vehicle. I called to add an acuracare warranty as my original warranty is expiring in a few months, but was told that I am not eligible as only vehicle 2013 and newer are eligible even though I am still under the original manufacturer's warranty. So if you are like me and you bought a brand new previous year model and you are thinking of adding an acuracare warranty call over a year prior to your warranty expiring. B.S.

I am getting a cpo 2017 rlx hybrid advance
it has less than 1000 miles. It has 5/62k included and powertrain is 7/100000. How much do you guys think its worth to add extra warranty until 8/120k? What is not covered under 7/100000 powertrain that would make sense for me to extend to 8/120k? Thx
I am so excited for getting my rlx hybrid. Owner is getting two low miles cpo 2017s rlx hybrid advances. If anyone is interested pm me. Dealer is in California. I will take one for sure.

I emailed Hyannis Honda and got a quote of $2095 for the 8/120 AcuraCare Plan (D82) with $0 deductible. It was also quoted at $1995 w/$100 deductible. Took the email to my dealer and they matched the price, albeit scratching their heads on how Hyannis could sell it for that price, which they said was "at cost".

I'm not as uptodate on acura specifics but when my fiancee bought her Focus the dealer tried to sell her some kind of maintenance plan that covered routine repairs for certain years/miles. Turns out, every dealer sell a similar plan and each dealer had different pricing and some were better priced than others.
Definitely don't limit yourself to one dealer, google/search other companies that may provide genuine Acura plans outside of dealers (if this is possible, to cut out the middle man, which many times can save money).
Also I'm usually skeptical of these extended plans as for most part they are not going to be as worth it....also read fine print as to what exactly they will cover and the year/mileage restrictions...

CPO & AcuraCare are essentially identical coverage. You can ONLY extend CPO coverage through the dealer you purchase from or it's already eclipsed the 4yr/50K warranty. OTOH, you can buy AcuraCare from ANY Acura dealer as long as it's under the original 4yr/50K warranty

You might want to re-think that strategy. The verbiage below is from https://www.curryacuracare.com/faq.cfm :
The best time to buy is when your Acura is still new and has less than 6,000 miles. This is when the longest terms are available and the best pricing is available to you.
You can purchase Acura Care as long as your Acura is a 2013 or newer and has less than 50,000 miles, but as your vehicle ages and you drive more miles, the plans available to you change.
Food for thought...

Krlesh is technically correct for Acura's under 6,000 miles, you can purchase AcuraCare up to 8yrs/120K miles HOWEVER if you wait until the car is roughly 3 1/2 years old and still under 50K miles, you can extend it another 5 years for a total of 8 1/2 years, there are mileage tariffs added depending on mileage, it's in $100 increments but, I don't recall the exact numbers

Best pricing I have found personally (multiple purchases from Bernardi) and by other members here on Acurazine for Acuracare extended warranty have come from:
Hyannis Honda
Bernardi Honda
Saccuccui Honda
There is/was another dealer - Curry Honda, but believe some folks have posted that they are no longer selling extended warranties???
I would reach out to them for quotes, just so you are informed and then decide what you want to do.
PS -Just remember you can cancel and get a prorated refund if and when you need/want. You can double check this in case something has changed.

Hyannis is $200 less.
i have confirmed that my 2012 mdx advance which is still under original warranty for another 3 months can not get acuracare. Only 2013s and newer are eligible. So if you guys get a car that sits on the lot like me and want acuracare warranty either
A) get it when you get the car or
B) get it a year and half before warranty expires.
I confirmed this with bernardi, hyannis and curry.

I bought the extended warranty on my RLX (I'm in Canada). I got a discount because it was CPO and even though I've never purchased it before, this car has too much technology on it that can go wrong. Having said that, I've also had great experiences with Acura taking care of our warranty expenses for something that shouldn't break at that period. However, I'm very loyal to their brand with well over 20 years of purchasing nothing but Honda/Acura vehicles so YMMV.
All depends upon how long you want to keep the car and whether you want that piece of mind. This vehicle has already been to the service more than my other cars, so thus far I'm glad of that piece of mind and that I purchased it.

No, I haven't found the right Hybrid RLX at the right price point, yet.
As for your other thread, personally I wouldn't buy ANY PAWs, different car altogether from the Hybrid. If it's a budget issue, I'd sooner buy a '14 Hybrid before I'd ever buy a PAWs.

Should I cancel?
Thanks! No complaints despite a new met after 16 years clean.

Thanks I know
For a 2017 this is the lowest. This matches the lowest reported here for a 2016. Only accessory included was wheel locks. Gonna see if they are willing to give me discounts on spare tire, tint, trunk mat, trunk tray, body side moldings, door edge film illuminated doors and exchange to chrome look wheels.

Went to pick up my car and ....
they said the volume doesnt turn up on the stereo. They changed the fuse but it shorted. They say the amp is bad and will fix it. I didnt feel like waiting so I will pick it up tomorrow.
I ordered body side moldings, splash guards, rear bumper applique, door edge film, trunk mat, trunk tray, spare tire kit and cargo net. ~ 1250 installed. Four door illuminated sill trim was $925 installed. May get it later. I am excited for the picking up the sleeper beast. I will keep the warranty as all the tech in the car may have issues. I mean the amp on the stereo already went out.

Our outcome ...
At 4600+ miles we called our dealer in Arizona and they agreed to match the prices I posted above. Our salesperson confirmed that these prices are $100.00 over their cost, but also that as a partner with us on this car, they stand to benefit from the warranty service reimbursement from Acura if we ever need it, so they're glad to match the price. We selected the 7-year / 100,000 miles plan for $1615, as it seems like the right break between cost and benefit, although our dealer did point out that the drivetrain warranty is already 6 years / 70,000 miles; and hybrid battery is "longer" .
Our other two Acura's (MDX and RDX) have been perfectly reliable - truly perfect; zero repair issues (knock on wood) - so hopefully we'll never need the extra warranty, but for peace of mind and the extra complexity of the Hybrid AWD System, it was worth $1615 to me. Now I won't sweat putting miles on my car on the long road trips I often take for work.
By the way ... after 6 months, I'm still super-pleased with our 2016 RLX SH.

Bumping this to see if there's any new info. I'm planning to get myself a new RDX in a couple of weeks and was wondering who's offering the best prices on an AcuraCare extended warranty. I know some folks don't believe in them, and that's fine, this post isn't for you. I believe in them, and want one, but would also like the best price, since it doesn't matter who I buy it from. I'm interested in their $0 deductible 6 year 120k mile plan. All info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Thanks.

For me, it's not the years, it's the miles. I put 22,000/year on my current vehicle which is now 9 years old.
I know many people are against extended warranties, but I've had them in my last 3 vehicles and in all 3 cases I've saved more than double the cost of the warranty so I'm way ahead of the game.

Was at the dealer yesterday picking up my MDX for some minor post-delivery adjustments, and noticed one of the service advisers had his phone on speaker, and was in a "next avaialble rep will be here in 10 minutes" hold pattern. I asked him who he was trying to talk to and he said AcuraCare. Apparently of all the warranty contacts they deal with, AcuraCare is by far the worst in terms of responsiveness and is the toughest to work with. From this dealer's perspective, Zurich is the best to work with and they cover things more easily than any other one. Just a data point....

I just took out an extended warranty in my 2016 pilot with 29k miles on it. I bought it from Hyannis Honda and got the 5 year 80k warranty. They also do warranties for Acura. Cost me $1005 with no deductible. I think the Acura pricing is slightly higher, but these guys were the cheapest I found in my search and super easy to deal with.

Today I picked up my 2022 MDX advanced pkg and bought the Acura care warranty, due to your link and this guys pricing i was able to negotiate my dealer to match these prices. He told me that these were almost his cost but he went ahead and matched it as I'd bought many other accessories. I got the 7yr / 100K mile Thanks for posting. Anyone else out there considering purchasing the Acura or Honda extended warranty these prices are really good and your dealer might match..

I’ll add to this recently resurrected thread and toss out a kudos to Hyannis Honda as well for the OEM extended warranty. I used them when we got our ‘15 Accord, and again on our new ‘21 RDX. Easy online quote, and just like 6 years ago, they beat all hands down, including the small # of other dealers with an online presence who sell to anyone, (granted, there’s not many out there, but still).
My vehicle purchase dealer in Texas wouldn’t even try to come close, just gave the typical spiel of, “It likely isn’t legit, no one can do that, blah, blah, blah”. Instead he went the, “But I can do a great deal on $50 less than what their claiming on a company we love and recommend”……
Hyannis are great folks who do high-volume online sales, as selling a hundred policies with a small profit with virtually zero time investment versus trying to ‘sell’ to a client for 20 minutes in the finance office is an easy income stream. Highly recommended for any Honda/Acura new owner. (For reference, $1,940 for the D82 $0-Ded, 8yr 120k miles on a ‘21 RDX).

Does your guy have a link to your Hyannis Honda contact person? Do you think I can get ACS warranty on a 2018 Acura RLX Hybrid with 18K miles?
