Paragon acura, NY

Is there anyone on this forum who lives close to this dealership? Has anyone had any experience with their sales team and/or service department? Appreciate your feedback. I am planning to buy from them. It will be an out of state purchase so I am doing my due diligence before I decide to fly out.

I personally have not purchased from Paragon--but I did visit both Paragon Acura and Paragon Honda to check out cars. I have friends who bought their RDX (new) and MDX (used) from Paragon Acura and does their maintenance with them. They get a loaner whenever their vehicle is in service. Seems like they haven't had any issues with the dealership as far as I know.

I have not personally dealt with Paragon either. They are a high volume Acura dealership so in that regard they must be doing something right.

Are you buying new or used? Before traveling to New York make sure they actually have the care you are interested in.

Buying used...they do have the car.

Make sure you ask for clear and fresh pictures of the car, like you were next to it at that moment, and to be sent via email for best resolution. Main picture is the dashboard showing the actual miles and then all the seats and the rest of the car.

Dang! Can anyone living close to the dealership help out by swinging by and checking it out? I can PM details. Would be a huge help and much appreciated.

Rick; If the car is a CPO vehicle, you shouldn't have too much to worry about. I live in OKC, Cultural Center of the Universe. I bought a 2017 CPO RLX SH from an Acura Dealership in Maryland, Tischer. Great car, great price. Cost me $800 to have it shipped from Maryland yo OKC.

Tischer is a great dealer. Bought my 2G Legend from them years ago when I lived in DC.

Not sure where you live but keep in mind if this car was a “local” car, Queens NY is brutal on cars. Roads and intense stop and go traffic wear on a car in dog years. I am originally from Queens. Paragon and their GM Brian Benstock have a very good reputation.

As a person who literally just bought his RLX (2/2/19) out of state this month, and sold cars & did F&I for a decade, I found it very difficult to get a sales person to want to negotiate the sale. Once they hear you're out of state most seasoned sales people tend to ignore you. Typically an out of state buyer is only buying because the price is so crazy you would be stupid not to buy it. Well with a crazy stupid price means no or very little profit left in the car and unless the sales people are paid on volume it most likely will be a "mini" for the sales person. You're best bet to get someone to actually work with you would be end of the month. Everyone at the dealership has sales goals to hit and usually the last week is an aggressive push for the dealership to make their numbers.

Just my two cents and experience. Good luck and happy purchasing.

I'm kind of late to this thread but I purchased a CPO TL from Paragon back in 2010. I was from out of state also. Flew in and drove the car home. I won't get into all the details here but the main thing was that they told me numerous lies and they didn't have all the paperwork ready for me when I arrived. I had discussed all of this on the phone with them prior to my arrival and was assured everything was in order. I was to come in, sign a few papers and be on my way in about a half hour. 4 hours later, I was finally able to leave and that was after waiting at the airport for an hour for them to pick me up. I felt that the customer service sucked because of the lies and the incredibly long wait time. Nevertheless, the car ended up being terrific. Personally though, I would never buy from them again. I'm sure everyone's experience is different but mine was nightmarish.
