Typically the "early adopters" pay more. I've been on both ends of that deal with a couple of different brands of car.

Yup. This time, it was worth being an early adopter.

It's easy to say when you're still under warranty.

Touché.

However: I've had a good experience with my 11 Hondacuras over the years, many outside of warranty, so I'm not that worried. With this car, I leased, so I guess it matters a little less for me.

I've also had a very solid Honda experience since 1989.

You said "lease," and I think this might be a problem with the mentalities of several carmakers, now, that it is likely people are leasing a car for a couple of years instead of buying one to last a decade.

Guessing from some visible executive changes at Honda, I think they're returning to the idea that people are buying Honda because they expect them to last hundreds of thousands of miles.

The way that leasing is being managed right now...I'm not sure it is self sustaining. I think that at some point its going to be more cost prohibitive than it is now.

We already have a little problem here in Virginia, where your personal property taxes go way up if you are leasing instead of buying.

Between that and the short mileage of leases, leasing has never made sense for me.
