Just dropped mine off at Acura Carland for my headlight TSB.

Will report upon completion, but I dont expect anything but solid work from their team.

We've replaced a few already Mike. The only reason they haven't called you if the lack of new replacement headlamps. When we get our allocation we will be calling everyone up for their replacements. Our first allocation was 2 lamps lol and we've received a few more since

Just got my Recall Notice

Just received my Official Recall Notice for the headlights. It states the Parts needed will become available in Spring 2015.

I am going to call the local dealer and ask them to notify me when the headlights come in.

I'll let you know what they say, after all, in Los Angeles is is already Spring. Today's temperature will be in the mid 70s.....sounds like Spring to me.

Also got my headlight recall notice today. But my dealer called me last week to say the parts were in (they had ordered them on their own) and to make an appointment to install them. Having it done next week.

Reading the recall notice, I can't help but notice, that nowhere in it does it say "Your headlights have to be replaced." or "Call your dealer to get it done." Is that Honda or NHTSA being overly legalistic? If I did not know what the deal was with this, I would have no idea what to do.

Let's make everybody call their dealers by pretending we can suddenly see ¼ further down the road!!

Got my recall notice yesterday as well. Not sure of the logic that says the car is being recalled but parts are not available until Spring....

For the people who have had their lamps replaced, did any of you have any protective film on your original lamps, and if so, did Acura reimburse you the cost of the protective film and installation? I have Xpel Ultimate protective coating on mine and was wondering if Acura will pay to have it re-installed after my headlights are replaced. Guess I should call client services? to see what they say
My dealer has the parts in house and wants me to go in for the replacements

My service tech looks out for me and preorders whatever parts are need for recalls. He is having difficulty getting the shock dampers for the front end clunk though.

How did the RLX do in the ice yesterday Mike_TX?

Did quite well, actually. Good grip on startup and no real slippin' and slidin'.

Dropped my '14 RLX PAWS of for headlight replacement this morning and was given a new MDX (89 miles on ODO) as a loaner. This MDX rides so much better than the RLX - what has happend to the RLX design team and their suspension woes? I just don't get it. I hope they come up with a fix for this dreadful suspension. I had faith in Acura, was an early adopter of the RLX & TLX; I feel violated!

I called my dealer and requested a status, their reply was that all the headlights should be at the dealers by mid March/April timeframe.

Wait until the bad guys find out how much these LED headlights are worth. They will be popping them out with a crow bar !

Got Headlights, SW update, and Steering Wheel done today. Well really done over the last 3 days due to parts issues.

I had protective clear bra installed on headlight lens on the ones they replaced. What are the chances that Acura will pay for getting them redone?

So I get film added to protect $3K light assembly. A Recall is required to replace light assembly which is not my fault and I have to spend money again to protect a simple rock from destroying a $3K part.
$6K to replace headlights!!!

Isn't a rock on a headlight covered the same way as a rock against a windscreen?

No deductible, comprehensive?

Never thought about that since in the past headlights were so cheap.

Sadly the world has changed over the years. I used to replace the spark plugs and change the oil on my '63 VW bug. Now I doubt I could even get to the spark plugs, let alone try to change them. Time moves on and cars are now high tech computers that just happen to have four wheels. Even the headlights are complicated and expensive.

I did most of the work on my cars until the last 20 years or so. When I was a kid, my Dad had a 73 Chrysler Newport V8. Took it in for service all the time. Started running real rough and I told him I would change the plugs. Turns out one of the rear plugs was very hard to get to. Finally got it out and it was the factory plug. Service never changed it

This sounds like an issue that should be discussed in a call to Acura Customer Service. My experience with them has been generally positive and they do seem to be genuinely eager to reach a solution that is acceptable to you. Since the film application is out of their control, my guess would be that they may offer you something roughly equivalent in free service or accessories. Probably worth making a call to see what they say.
