Might be something you want a dealer to check out being the airbag system and all... That's about all I got.

And clean that dashboard please! Microfiber towel works wonders.
Don't treat this car like a Civic.

Is there any chance you installed a child safety seat (carseat) in the front passenger side?

It's been known that over-extending the seatbelt to the lock position like you would for a car seat install, will damage the sensors in the retractor. This is true for many brands on newer autos as car seats are not meant to be placed in the front seating positions due to the safety features used.

I would have them diagnose the seatbelt parts on the passenger side.

Cheers,

theShaft

For goodness sake, don't look at my car, then. :-)

What he said, please. Don't take chances, please.

I don't mean to be unhelpful, but none of us would work on airbags.

No harm of insult meant by the cleanliness comment. Every time mine gets covered in salt like today it makes me crazy. Make everyday a good one if you can. All my best to everyone.

I had a similar problem with my Porsche passenger seat belt triggering a "failure" and dash light intermittently. I had the Porsche laptop diagnostics and it showed the contacts in the seatbelt buckle were making intermittent contact with the metal retention clip of the belt. I cleaned with CRC electrical contact cleaner and problem went away and never returned. Another possible component to "diagnose" would be the seat pressure sensor that is meant to detect if someone is in the front passenger seat. Could be a broken wire or bad sensor, although I must say that would be a long shot...….. GOod Luck with your diagnosis. Demosan

Hi Ysl_Sly,

I'm having the same issue, how did you solve this issue? Did you end up going to the dealer?

Thanks!

For those who come across this issue in the future. You'll need to scan the car and see which air bag sensor needs to be replaced. If your mechanic has the tools to to scan and re-program then its a pretty easy fix. I paid about 150 bucks for parts and labor.

The scanner reported a front bumper airbag sensor error. Does anyone know how to replace/repair the sensors?

this is as close as i can get to whatever part you need.

https://www.acuraoemparts.com/v-2014...el--srs-unit-1

I believe it is #3 in the diagram or #6.
#3 is labeled as: Sensor Assembly Front Crash (trw)
#6 is labeled as: Cover; Front Crash sensor.

but to me; #3 is just the assembly unit? and #6 is just a cover??

Yeppers. It has to be #3 as I know there are 2 sensors. I believe the sensor needs to be re-programmed so I may have to go to the dealer. That's what I am told by Burden Automotive a great Honda/Acura only repair shop in Houston, TX.

nice to add another great shop to my repertoire! Houston, Texas represent!!

#3 is only $36 bucks!!!
(that's another reason why I question if that is the sensor, because it's so cheap.)
I would think a crash sensor would be more expensive than $36.00

Right but the main SRS unit is $1,300. That will set you back.
