Cross shop against Lexus GS 450H
First, I only own a 2011 RDX FWD, but follow along the RDX and RLX forums. I am planning on getting a different vehicle in the next year, but I buy used so limit costs. I like the RLX SH - especially the MMC in 2018. On the other hand, the Lexus 450H with F-sport seems to tick all the boxes as well. I know 7 spd vs. CVT and all, but I think the interior design wise of the Lexus is superior. At least in pictures. So my question is, did anyone who purchased the RLX SH cross shop against the Lexus, and why did you choose the Acura? Any regrets. Sorry if this has been discussed.

Best thing to do is to go see the cars in person and test drive both. SHAWD is way more spacious inside... besides other positives.

Three Wheelin'
There is no doubt that Lexus make a fine automobile, but when I compared the GS to the RLX, I found:
1. The RLX is roomier inside which was important to me because I sometimes have three passengers with me on the way to the golf course or out to dinner with another couple.
2. The RLX is "sportier" and more fun to drive with the Sport Hybrid package taking acceleration and handling to another level. SHAWD makes a huge difference to handling - the technology is bonafide.
3. The RLX was quite a bit less expensive, when comparing apples to apples MSRP AND especially with healthy discounts often available on the RLX.
4. The DCT of the RLX is wonderfully smooth and much more "fun" for sporty driving.
5. Just my personal opinion... I hate the huge, ugly Lexus grill.
I'll qualify everything I say with the fact that I've been a happy Honda/Acura owner since 1986, so I went cross shopping with a huge bias. I also personally prefer a vehicle that LACKS snob appeal - a vehicle that doesn't shout to the world that I have money (or I'm pretending that I have money) and the RLX is the very definition of "stealth wealth". That said, the RLX's sporty side and roominess won me over in the end.
The early build PAWS version of the RLX really hurt the model's reputation and as a result really hurt it's depreciation rates. As a result, there should be plenty of good deals out there if you look around although the Sport Hybrid's are still rare enough to be hard to find used.
Good luck in your search.

Do a web search, you'll find a bunch of comparisons.
I've owned a LS400, GS430, and an ES350. In my opinion the ES350 is the best bang for the buck in the Lexus line up.
I own a 2017 RLX SH with Advance Package. I think it's the best bang for the buck luxury car, bar none.
I second the recommendation to go test drive both, may have to test drive new cars even thought you're buying used. I recommend a 2018 if you're going the RLX SH route.
