There is certainly a learning curve with the new product, but I don't feel it's necessary to use everything to enjoy the car.

With the current incentives now is the time to buy, unless you want the SHAWD. Go advanced if you can, especially if you road trip a lot - like to Rolla, MO for St. Pats. I bought my RLX in Aug 2013 - some discount but not like what is offered now. I am very happy with the RLX and feel like it is a good value for the technology you get.

I just purchased the rlx advanced and with incentives it came in around 48k. Sticker with all accessories was over 62k. Make sure you have the dealer include side moldings rear spoiler and splash guards, all weather mats, wheel locks, trunk mat in the deal.
The car really comes to life on the freeway but if you do a lot of bumping city driving the ride might get annoying.

I haven't had any problems with my car and I would have no problem recommending one to a friend.

There are a lot of older chassis numbers in stock, still, because of the relative unpopularity of the car in some markets. My only caution would be to aim for a higher chassis number.

Mine is up close to 7000 and I don't have any of the problems that people are talking about here.

Some things that people complain about are the result of decisions that Honda made consciously. The business of the ride at low speeds on very rough pavement, for example.

Just make sure you try out the car thoroughly and that it's really for you. If at all possible, try out thoroughly the exact car that you're going to be buying.

Remember, too, that people complain about the things they don't like or that don't work well. The great majority of purchasers are not people who are going to be frequenting forums to talk about their cars, and the great majority of purchasers are not going to have problems that would cause them to want to talk bout their cars.

Our ages are similar and if you're like me you've already compared the RLX Advance to equivalently equipped Audis and Cadillacs, and you've come to the conclusion that the RLX Advance is simply an extraordinary value for the money.

Accessories

don't waste your finance dough on OEM accessories !!!! You can obtain those independently for a whole lot less!!!!! I always buy mine afterwards and install them myself and save a ton of finance money....(mudguards, bra, locking lugs, sunroof visor, floor mats and car cover)

Great point. Dealer can really make margin unless your very specific on what you are willing to pay for these and its your choice if you want to roll it into a .9% finance deal or pay outside of the term. Sometimes it easier to deal with them and have them price match than to pay shipping somewhere else on the internet. Plus I enjoy negotiating as well and accessories is were it gets really fun with the sales guys.

No sales tax! No shipping charge.....don't waste your money with these dealerships. Their mark-up is insane! I buy mine from a dealership in NY and he beats ANYONE's prices and ALL OEM parts!!! I've been buying from him since 2001....reliable and BEST price ANYWHERE! Private email me for source !!!

Its NO difference when you own a restaurant! They make tons on Cocktails NOT food.....

Wow, that's the lowest price I have seen, and that too with all the accessories. I want the RLX Advanced now.

I'd wait for the Sport Hybrid, but that's just me. I'm also waiting for all the bugs to be ironed out.

Even so, deals like that described above are damned tempting.

But I'm a 2G RL guy....buying without AWD just seems not right.

Definitely go Advanced. All the extra's that are in the Advanced, particularly cool/heated seats, LKAS, ACC, CBMS, and of course the Krell system (and a few other perks) are what really make the car what it is.

I'm still shedding tears internally when I see you guys getting these prices on the Advanced...

Definitely going to be some hardball negotiating when it comes time to renew my lease...

oh yea, ellsworth, if you're going to lease, then go for it now. If you're going to buy, then wait for the 2015 or MMC update so the bugs and kinks are worked out.

If it helps any, I've only seen two people say that they got an RLX Advance for that cheap.

KBB and Edmunds are saying that the prices have gone up on average since I bought mine.

I've warmed up to the car very nicely, and I've come to even appreciate what it looks like. :-)

As of today, in my market, TrueCar is reporting $49,828 for RLX Advance.

But I see local dealer inventories are one or two cars some Advance, some Tech, all black.

I am wondering if RLX PAWS production is yielding to ramp up RLX SHAWD? I wonder if there are logistical issues building them side by side?

I don't believe they've made any 2014 RLXs this year. But I don't think it has anything to do with the ramp up of production for the hybrid model.
