AcuraLink Connect
Any one else experiencing a connection issue with AcuraLink on an iPhone 6S? I upgraded from Standard to Connect and now I have lost my connection. AcuraLink CS said give the network 48 hrs to update the data base - really - 2 days? It has ben 2 days now and still no connection. Message I get when I try to open is "We're sorry , the account for your Acura vehicle is not properly provisioned, Call Acura Customer Service.
Anyone else experience this issue?

Yes this happened to me when i got my SH.....they had to have a tech that worked on the backend of their network reset my account. That took about a week from the time they opened the ticket, but no problem since then.
I had to call a couple of times to get to a knowledgeable CS, that put me on the phone with an actual tech.....

I had a similar experience when I renewed after my free year had expired.
My memory is a little cloudy on the details, but it went something like this. When I renewed, the CSR asked for my VIN number to pull up my records. She then asked for my name so I said "Rick *********".
After not being able to connect for several days, I called back, and the CSR insisted everything should be running. As a last resort I asked her under what name is the account registered, and she said "Rick". It was only then that I remembered that the 1st free year had been registered under "Richard" which is the name I use for legal documents. After changing the name in my smart phone app, everything began working.
So despite the fact that I wasn't using the correct login credentials, the app never complained about that, but instead gave some other misleading message similar to the one you are getting. So check with the CSR for the correct registration information including the spelling of your name.

Still not connecting and they still say it is a server issue. Server issues do not take days to fix. My AcuraLink will not get data for my TLX, also. Registration and spelling are all correct.

No problems connecting between iOS and a KC2.
But it has always been slow. It has always felt like GPS has to wake up a part of the car, get battery power, double check everything, and then report.
It can take a couple of minutes which, if you've lost your car in a parking lot, is just too long.
I have no experience with other makes to know if this is typical.

Well. In that case, yesterday was an especially charming day for me.
The trunk wouldn't open once when I wanted. Button on lid wouldn't work, button on door wouldn't work. It worked after I started the car and has worked since then.
Saying, "Call Jeff Williams" resulted in "Play track five."

Doesn't sound anything the same to me. Not even close.
Today I will drive around with a calm and superior look on my face, as if I'm behind the wheel of God's gift to the motoring world.
Nobody will ever know.

I gave up and called customer support. They said the AcuraLink app has been down all week. They "hope" to get it back this weekend, but no promises.
Can't send destinations to the car. That really sucks.

Has anyone synced the car with AcuraLink Connect recently? I have not been able to sync with the car via the phone app or the desktop app for 6 days now. I did report to Acura CS via Twitter....they asked for my details, VIN etc to forward to Tech Support. *holding breath*

Mine is working in southern Ontario.
To isolate the problem to the app or to your vehicle, check that the cellular link is still working by verifying if your our Acura is still able to receive traffic updates . Does the TRF icon appear on the navigation display?

When you have a good AcuraLink signal as evinced by the number of waves showing on the icon, what does the warning "A!" mean?

Thanks for the tip Rick. I just went out to run an errand, and I noticed the TRF icon was displayed. And now the car syncs to the apps. I assume tech support pinged or reset something to jump start it. I also noticed the A envelope, but when I check messages via the phone app ...nothing.

The messages are sent from Acura to your car. When I first got my Acura vehicle, I would get a new message every day with a tip on operating the vehicle. Once I had seen all the tips I now only see appointment reminders from the dealership.
These are not regular text or email messages that you would have on your phone, and so you won't see them when you select phone for the upper display.

So, if there's nothing in Messages, what is it?

So do you guys find the Connect service worth it? $359 for a three year subscription...... Do you use the features often? Most interesting to me is the virtual key, navigation features, the AER and stolen vehicle locator.
Everytime I use the Google maps in IOS the system keeps telling me to hang up everytime the voice comes on... annoying.
TIA

I also lock doors I've forgot to lock. Unlock doors in the rain.
A couple of times, I've lost the car in a parking lot, I hate to admit. :-)

It is a bit slow and clunky to use the remote app on the phone, but If you are unsure you locked your doors and you are not near the car (or in remote range) it is a nice safety check.
I have also used it to turn on the headlights when returning to the car in a poorly lit area. Remote start does not illuminate the exterior lights (and minimal interior lights) as not to draw attention to an unmanned car running. It also has shorter range than using a web based app.
The AcuraLink voice request for NAVI is sooooo much easier to enter an address spoken in continuous strings or search a location on the fly / while driving. You can just push the button and when responded - say" 123 Main Street Tampa FL 33626" all in one string. Or "Glory Days Sports Bar Tampa" and it will display the multiple locations in Tampa if you do not specify which location. And sending address from phone or laptop to car is second best use. I hardly ever use the NAVI drill down method for entering destinations.
Last, like most insurance, we pay for it in hopes we never have to use it, the AcuraLink services will track the car if stolen and call the car if airbags deploy. Due to ONSTAR, I would not be here today. Literally, that call was a lifesaver.

Thanks gentlemen, I went ahead and purchased the $359 - three year subscription. I didn't realize that the standard AcuraLink service actually cost $49/yr but as new owners we get that for free for three years.
Therefore after three years, if we want the Connect level of service it'll actually cost: standard service level cost ($49/yr - maybe higher in three years) PLUS the Connect service level cost (whatever that is at that time).
Of course, it's all clearly outlined on the website, but I neglected to review it clearly.....
Anyway, kinda fun playing around with the app.
Do I have to utilize the map in the App instead of the Google Map on my iPhone?
I also picked up a BT OBDII scanner and the Torque app. That should be fun.......
Thanks again!

If you search with Google, you would have to cut and paste the search results address into the AcuraLink app in order to send it to the car. The AcuraLink app is the gateway to the car. Google cannot communicate to your car over the web. I just got used to using the search in the AcuraLink app as it works nearly as well as Google search (I am not certain which search engine supports the AcuraLink Destination Search) but you can use your phone, tablet or PC voice command feature to enter the destination search. It is great for the phone when on the go, then send to car.
NOTE: You do not have to type in the search if your device has a 'microphone' icon on the virtual keyboard. If you tap the microphone button you may speak your search to the app instead of typing - idela when driving or walking.
