2019 Acura RLX

Apparently the 2019's are starting to show up soon according to my salesperson at Acura of Boston. According to him no new changes to the 2019 models. Just FYI for the group here. They have one already listed on their webpage.

So, no Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, eh? Disappointing.

Seems like it. You never know though. These sales people sometimes just say things to say them.

Um . . . maybe they are working out the kinks in the non-flagship Acura models first? Yeah, I'm laughing too!

I do;t expect any changes to the current RLX. They will either do a new RLX of kill the line. I hope they do a new RLX because I came so close to getting an 18 if the head unit were not a mess.

I'd like to see the RLX live. There have been some interesting suggestion here at Acurazine for the future RLX. Maybe Acura R&D is secretly peeping at the site for suggested improvements! We can always hope.

It appears that the 2019 will only be offered in the Hybrid AWD configuration !! The Acura website only offers that although on Honda news, com there is still no mention of the 2019 model introduction for some reason.

It makes sense and as has been stated years ago by many on Acurazine this is the way the car should have been introduced in 2014.

I just reviewed the Acura website. It appears that the hybrid power train is the only powertrain choice for 2019. The 310 HP gas engine is gone, the 377 HP hybrid with SH-AWD and the Advance Package is the only choice. They do still show 2018 with both powertrains, so not sure what the reason unless there are so many 2018 FWD's left over that they decided just to drop it for this model year. It would not surprise me that there long term intent is hybrid only for the RLX, so it could be long-term plan with low current volume meant goodbye to gas only.

I suppose that it's not a surprise that the 2019 is only available in the hybrid drivetrain. I'm still hoping for positive change for the FMC, whenever it comes, or if it comes (given Americans' current love affair with SUVs *yuck*).

That would be an interesting development if they dropped the V-6 engine non-hybrid for hybrid only. I just drove my 2014 Advance to Vail CO and back to San Diego for my daughter's wedding and was able to average 34+ miles MPG with the AC running almost constantly...…… Was amazed quite frankly as I have made this trip many times to Denver at holiday time ( obviously colder weather) and always averaged 30+ for whole trip including a week of city driving in Denver so was amazed by this last trip. Not sure what the hybrid does for overall MPG in warm climates when highway/freeway driving is driving pattern, although increased horsepower at 377 surely increases performance and city driving MPG . Maybe the future power train has a turbo in the mix coming soon as is the case of the Accord?? Demosan
