Just don't read the forums regarding the RLX at Temple of Hate, err, I mean Temple of VTEC. Man, there's a lot of hate for Acura/Honda over there. Most have no idea what they're talking about.

Looking at dealer pics of a 2018 blk/blk RLX hybrid: did it get new wood trim other than that lighter color 1 ?

Do we need to go straighten them out? :-)

^^ I stopped posting there awhile ago. But if anyone is looking for an alternative to banging their head on the wall, go for it. :-) For example, the debate du jour there is about how Honda "cheaped out" by putting the newly developed 2.0T in the new Accord in place of the J-series V6, whose costs had long ago been fully amortized.

To add insult to injury.....

2018 MDX gets the ODMD 2.0 interface , and not the 2018 RLX (as we all know here).

Here's the press release:

All models also feature a redesigned dual-screen user interface (ODMD 2.0), with more intuitive menus and command structures complemented by a new 7-inch capacitive touchscreen (previously resistive type) with 30-percent faster response times. Topping it all off is standard Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ integration.
Sigh.

I don't post often on TOV, but I posted this today:
It couldn't cost THAT much to put the ODMD 2.0 interface in the 2018 RLX, since they sell so few copies of it, could it?

I personally think this is a bone-headed move for Acura brass and cements that even they don't feel the RLX is worth saving. Yes, they just spent a lot of money on new sheetmetal. Did adding the new interface cost that much in profitability for the RLX?

With the RLX, Acura should go big with features, or quit like Infiniti did with the old Q series, until they can get it right.

Of course, in these days in which more people are buying CUVs/SUVs anyway, the RLX likely doesn't matter anyway and its days may be numbered...even if the RL class has been traditionally the skunkworks for new Hondacura tech.

As far as ODMD 2.0, I love it in my TLX A-Spec. MUCH improved over the old interface in my prior 2014 RLX Sport Hybrid. Much faster, easier to use, and since I use Apple Carplay, the upper screen is taken up with my iPhone's apps anyway. The knob used to control the upper screen works great with Carplay. I can also use Siri to control my phone without touching anything. Acura did a great job with it, and I'm very satisfied. Kudos to the interface engineers!

I think I remember reading somewhere that the MMC includes real wood trim.
