I have been saying that for months. Alex is a huge Infiniti fanboy. He loves the brand. Watch his QX50 review and you will understand. He couldn’t find a single issue with it. He has done at least 3 reviews for Q50.

I am still waiting for his review but I don’t expect he will place RDX over QX. I am sure he will say the QX CVT is better than Acura’s 10 speed lol! Or he will say two screens are better Hahahah

My strategy is watch these reviews and believe them 50%. The others 50% you have to test drive, ask close family and friends and read forums and Facebook pages. You will find real people sharing their own opinion.

I wanted to add that the people commenting below the article...every single one of them...blasted the review to smithereens. No one agreed with it at all (what I read on the first page or so of comments).

If having a screen in the car is good, then logically two screens are twice as good as one.

Pricing

The pricing I have has the FWD base starting at $38,295, AWD Tech $43,495, AWD A-Spec $46,495 and the AWD Advance at $48,395. These prices all include destination. I don’t have all the details yet but certain colors cost extra too.

Except that the ones in the brand new Infiniti have graphics from the 90s.

Except that when Acura integrated two screen across their lineup, they got bashed every single time And now Audi is integrating two screens (I think in A7, if I am not mistaken). Anyway, the point is not to bash Alex, he is a solid reviewer. He is just biased towards Infiniti and I can live with it. Regardless what he says, I won't buy a $50-60K car with CVT. I may buy a Versa for $20K but not a QX50 or 60. Infiniti lost their reputation. The G is gone...The QX70 is gone and now we left with 20 year old QX60 and a $60K QX50 with an outdated interior and CVT. I won't lie, I like the Q60 and for $55-60K 400HP is a bargain.

you make the ‘90s sound old. I got ties older than that.

And, no, I sure wouldn’t buy a 50K car with a CVT, not the way they still rubber band.

An Acura dealer has put up their 2019 inventory.

Destination Charge: $995

It doesn't mention whether these are FWD or AWD but the cheapest one is $40,295 with the most expensive Advance model at $48,795.

There is a ZZ2 code that adds $400 to the price. Not sure if that is some kind of accessory package that the dealer tacked on or a premium color like Joshuaren mentioned above. I hope they aren't charging extra for that Havana Omelette Brown paint color.

Those seem to be AWD models. I think considering how much better this car is over the past model $2,000 seems worth it.

The current base model with AWD starts at $38,495 with destination. That site lists the new base at $40,295.

performance red is a $400 add according to the Acura dealer link. Mazda is proud of their soul red. Looks like the Germans are a model on pricey paint.

AWD Tech on the 2018 is $41,200.

$2,300 more for all the upgrades on the 2019 seems more than worth it. Not sold on nearly $5k more for the Advance.

From my contact at Acura:
"Pricing should be released as early as tomorrow. As you might expect, there will be no savings off of the MSRP due to the vehicle being in such high demand."
Wonder how long I have to wait to get any relief off of the MSRP...

If that statement came from a sales person at an Acura dealer....this is nothing new for that to be said about any "new model" that is popular. To say that is written in stone....NO WAY! I've been told this same thing
when buying new cars and I've NEVER ever paid MSRP for any new car..even all new redesigned highly "wanted" models. IF you know how to negotiate....you can always get $$ off the MSRP. To go along with that...it
should go without saying...I would NEVER pay over MSRP for any vehicle. That money is set on fire as soon as you drive off the lot...along with the approx. 10% drop in book value due to it now being a "used vehicle."

I've had dealers often put "addendums with mark ups" that said...."Market Value"....to make people believe....yep, sorry but, you are going to have to pay OVER MSRP for this car. Uhhh...no I won't. I've never paid what was on
an addendum. My first words in negotiating goes something like this..."to start with, you can remove the addendum, and if there are items put on the car I don't want, then you can take them off...or we can start with another
vehicle from scratch." Meaning, find me a 'fresh" model and I will put on any accessories I want....and we'll start by negotiating from the Invoice costs.

I know...on new "hot" models that's a low place to start....but, that's where I START...then feel them out on how much they are willing to come off the MSRP.

Acura has already "put it out there last week that May 29 is the release of pricing and specs, etc. Sometimes, the web site is changed after or close to midnight EST to show the new
'19 model with it's pricing etc. Meaning you can "build" your model. Whether they do it this time....who knows for sure? I've seen some manufacturers "sneak it in" their web page.
They will show the '18 model, bur, if you click on the 2018 year at the top of the page...it changes and adds the 2019. It has happened.

Anyway....let's all talk about the pricing, accessories, wheels, colors etc, starting tomorrow. I read here that the A-Spec, Sh_Awd will MSRP with dest. at $46,495. Seems high, and I don't
know where that # came from. IF it's that much I may not be interested.

$5k is a lot of money for sure but just for fun, here's a breakdown of what each individual would cost approximately based on what other makes charge:
Adaptive dampers - $1000
ELS - $850
HUD - $990
Ventilated Front Seats - $680
Hands Free Tailgate - $250
Heated Steering - $250
Rear Heated Seats - $580
Rear Load Sill Metal Garnish - $100
Total: $4700

So that's $200 from the total price difference of $4900 between the Tech and Advance trim. But there are actually more features than the ones listed above. These are items that are usually bundled into a package and so I couldn't find a price for each individually, but are found in the Advance trim:
Surround View Cam
16-way seats
Real Wood Trim
LED Fog lights
Rain Sensing Wipers
Rear Cam washer

I'd imagine the above are easily worth over $200. I think the problem is the "jump" in price - that $5k jump looks big. That's probably why in Canada, there's an extra trim so the gap between each trim isn't as big.

Unhappy Dealer just posted MSRP's of 14 RDX's

Here is what I just got from my Acura dealer on MSRP's...and they are officially posted.

Base Model with AWD -- $40,295
Tech with AWD - $43,895
A-Spec with AWD - $46,495
Advance with AWD - $48,395

It appears that "special colors" are an extra....$400. LIke Apex Blue

Sorry, don't have ALL the colors that cost the extra money.

Actually I'm kind of shocked at the prices...higher than I thought or was hoping for.

Thanks for the update. I think these prices were posted by a few others already so I guess most already kinda knew. Good to have confirmation!

I believe these are including destination charge already.

FWIW, here are the current 2018 pricing:
Base Model with AWD and acurawatch plus - $39,795
Tech with AWD and Acurawatch Plus - $43,495
Advance with AWD and Acurawatch Plus and LED fog - $45,870

IMO, the base and tech trims didn't go up that much, about $400-$500. And you do get a whole lot more stuff on the new one. Granted, you will most likely be getting very good incentives on the old model.

The Advance trim has a noticeably price jump of $2500 or so. But the HUD and adaptive damper system alone are already worth $2k there.

Red face

Need to "clarify" the MSRP of the Tech AWD....the price is...$43,495....this is with a "Std. color."

I had posted the price with a "special color that costs $400 more."

If dealers stick close to MSRP (if market supports it very long)(. 1,000 built per week to 300 dealers) That is a negative when cross shopping.

I am seeing excellent deals on 2018 X3 and Q5. With $5k off the price advantage narrows considerably.

I put my name on an extra cost red base AWD and not keen on the price. So I may cancel and allow a must have person to buy pool down payment for the dealer.

Hey y’all, If anyone gets info on the various upgrades ( I.e. wheel up grades, door trims, extras..). Please post. I’m curious. Texas dealers aren’t even doing a preliminary posting of the MSRP on the 2019’s. Every dealer I’ve spoken to in Tx are telling me they won’t get them til June 15. Much thanks!

I agree with you, with a $5k discount on a X3 or Q5, it makes shopping more interesting. :-)

For me it's better to lease. The interest rates are higher with the Germans (Audi 3.9%, Acura 1.9%)...

I'm eager to see pricing and lease offers for Canada (residual value and interest rate)!

Thanks!

I assume only the AWD is available in Canada?

The gap between the Elite and the Platinum... Ouch!

I will have to review all the features of each trim.

Everything you ever wanted to know...I think..LOL!!.....is now posted on the Acura web site. Go to the Press Releases. There are multiple ones posted TODAY....covering ALL aspects of the new RDX. Prices or course...but,
there are "things" there about what was done to this new RDX we never heard of or thought about...in 99% of the folks here. So, much info. I couldn't...or chose not to print, since it would take most of my printer paper!!

I'm sure you'll find what you are looking for. The PR's are broken down in to different "areas or sections" of the RDX.

Enjoy!!!

Unhappy Close??? in Prices

Well, I was kind of shocked at how much the pricing went up...esp. with the Tech, and Advance. A-Spec...can't compare to last year....it's less than the Advance....but, wow!

The Advance with Std. paint is $48,395. That's approx. $4,000 more than last year. Kind of a big jump I'd say. I do know that the new RDX has MUCH more new "things" in all
areas of it's build....but, just didn't expect such a large jump in MSRP. Comparing to it's competition is what most do....I get that...but, I look at what the last yr's model cost...and
it is a big jump.

Looks like the premium paint colors that will cost extra are black, red, Apex blue and the dog sh!t brown everyone loves. It sucks if they expect us to pay an extra $400 for black and red.

I hear you, but at the same time its hard to compare it to last year's model when it is basically a completely different car.

I know...I get it...I've had 3 Gen 2 RDX's...still have a very low mileage 2017....It's just a shock to my bank account to see these new prices. I am amazed at how much they put in to the "all new RDX." I get that...esp. after
reading all of today's Acura's Press Releases....covering every aspect of the RDX. On their web site....Press Releases. Amazing "stuff" we or most never heard about or knew.about.

IF it drives great and WOW's me....then I'll have to dig deeper than I was expecting to for a new A-Spec. Now...convincing my wife...."Honey, look at this...what a GREAT deal...we HAVE to get the all new RDX!!" LOL!!!

Not unlike many other manufacturers now that charge for "special paint colors." Is this the first time Acura has done this?? Not sure...I should know...with 5 owned so far. Can't remember if they have.

Howdy Colorado Guy! and thanks. I read through the info. Like you said...staggering. I'm hoping to get the $$$ impact of the various accessories as well. I went to your friendly Colorado dealer's site and in order to get more info (other than the MSRP of the various models), you have to give your personal information . So...if anyone else has found the costs list for these things. Would love for you to share info. Thanks!

Howdy back....and you are welcome. Sometimes folks don't look in the most obvious places to find info. The pricing for Accessories is not out there....so, I'm now asking questions of my dealer...who I get along with quite well.
I ask....they respond...even the GM...always answers me within a short time...either via text or email or phone. I have his cell...and 2 email addresses. OK...he likes me!! LOL!! Coming up on my 5th Acura buy from him.

It's only $3200 more from the 2018 to 2019 Advance and this car has a LOT more than the 2018 Advance did. SHAWD, Pano Roof, way better infotainment for starters. You also get the new 16 speaker ELS, better interior materials (real wood), better seats (more adjustment), HUD, Adaptive suspension, Surround View Camera...etc.

Also...look at the pricing again. The 2018 AWD Tech with Acurawatch was $42,500. The 2019 SHAWD Tech is $42,500 and it includes Acurawatch.

So I don't know what you're talking about here - other than the Advance being more expensive (with a lot more stuff)...the base and tech trims are right where they were last year.

I'll tell you what I'm talking about. Just dollars and cents. I know quite well, esp. after all the details released today from Acura with the many News Releases. I'm retired...and having lots of time on my hands...along with
being a "car guy"....I know all the many differences and pluses with the new RDX. Have owned 3 Gen 2's. It's just simply looking from one perspective...cost. Yes, compared to my '17 RDX Tech, and my past Advance
models....it's a lot more RDX. Just been used to fairly decent pricing with the Gen 2's.

I told my wife today at work....and she wasn't too thrilled. And she really wants an A-Spec...we have one reserved, but, not obligated to buy. I'm waiting for "my deal" from my GM. This would be our 5th Acura from my
dealer. He does treat me well, but, when you are starting from a much higher MSRP...it still will come out more than I thought I would have to pay....when we were guessing at the new pricing.

We'll see....I'm waiting till he sits down after being outside watching all the RDX's unload from the truck! LOL!!
I'll step up....IF I like the way it drives....just not sure if my wife wants to. You know..."happy wife.....etc." LOL!!

how can she possibly be happy when she is at work and you are retired? I was able to retire a year before my wife was able to retire, and ‘happy wife’ was never in the conversation.

You really want me to answer that question? LOL!! 'Cause she thinks I'm the greatest...and she likes me being home and she likes making big bucks. She's done by the end of the year. It's all good. She loves her job
but, she's ready to "hang em up" and spend money!! LOL!! Off to Florida to visit Mom in law....and wherever else we decide.

Quick Reply: Will Acura stay close to MSRP pricing on 2019 RDX ?
