I normally don’t care for that YouTube channel, but this was a well done video.
interesting that the Type-R forgoes the balance shafts. I wonder how bad the vibrations are? And how much power is lost due to the extra rotational mass?

The 3rd-gen RDX uses the same basic 2.0L block/design as the Civic Type-R. There are some differences, such as different pistons, smaller turbo, smaller fuel injectors, balance shafts, and ECU tuning, for example. But the general features/construction and other information in the video is useful and applicable to the RDX.

Yea I watched it, see I thought the RDX was much closer to the accord 2.0, although a lot of the features of the RDX engine seemed similar to the civic type R engine, the torque and HP are much closer to the accord too

However, what I said applies equally to the RDX and Accord -- they're the same basic design as the Type-R engine, with a few tweaks to meet the various NVH, fuel economy, and power requirements for the various vehicles.
An analogy would be the Honda J-Series engine. Most people would agree that the TLX, Pilot, and MDX share the same basic engine... But they do have slight differences (2014+ MDX uses J35Y5; 2015+ TLX and 2016+ Pilot uses J35Y6).

Yes, I believe the internals of the Accord and RDX are similar (or even the same). The ECU tune is different, I believe, as the RDX recommends premium fuel and makes more power.
