Vehicle Data Collection

i just picked up my RDX today so I was in the process of figuring things out. So far, things have been straight forward but I have a question on the Data Vehicle Collection in the AcuraLink app. I’m under the impression that some features won’t be available if I block that section. I can’t find more information on this with regards to privacy and what are the exact stuff that are tracked besides what the app states (odometer, oil level and etc). Is that only passed to the AcuraLink app or it actually go to Acura? I’m not particularly paranoid (well maybe a bit

)but more information would be appreciated.

My understanding is that it's only used in conjunction with the app but it has to go through Acura/Honda servers to get there. Whether it's captured and used for other purposes is anyone's guess.

My guess is that no company today lets data flow through it without using it. My guess is also that Acura will get and use the data whether you opt in or opt out.
