U.S. News is the worst...

14 Fastest New SUVs Under $50,000
https://cars.usnews.com/cars-trucks/...vs-under-50000

No mention of the 2019 Acura RDX. However, once I saw that they included the 2019 Ford Flex, the article immediately lost all credibility.

it’s all about money, they must of been paid to give a good opinion about another vehicle

I think it was based on HP. Every car they mentioned has over 280 HP. I might be wrong.

365HP, so...

But, I agree, the whole article doesn't have much merit.

The EcoBoost Flex is legitimately quick, and absolutely deserves to be on that list.

Motor Trend:

MKC
Go for the latter option, and your $45,100 MKC 2.3 AWD's respectable 6.5-second 0-60 time keeps up with the Infiniti QX50 and Acura RDX. Still, that comes at the cost of 18/25 mpg fuel economy and a relatively short overall driving range
and the RDX
From a stop, our all-wheel-drive Acura reached 60 mph in 6.4 seconds, about as quick as a few all-wheel-drive 2019 Infiniti QX50s we've tested and our long-term 2019 Volvo XC60 T5 AWD (6.5 seconds).
So how does the MKC make a list of fastest SUVs?

I stand corrected. The EcoBoost Flex has impressive acceleration (0-60 in approx. 6 seconds) for a 4800 lbs vehicle.

Too bad it's hideous.

And I doubt many people pay less than 50k for most of those cars. The RDX starts at 37k but nobody buys that car, even if there is on on the lot, which is unlikely.

You know what they say ... beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Personally, I think the Flex is a cool spin on the traditional wagon. It's unique without resorting to massive grille work or overly-creased sheet metal (Lexus and Lexus). If I needed a people-hauler, I'd take one over a minivan or a cramped 3-row crossover in a heartbeat.

I personally wouldn't be caught dead in a flex (or MKT for that matter) however I think it's way too overlooked and under appreciated and if I needed a minivan it would be WAY up on my list however. We keep asking for something new or different and when we finally get it we all resort to getting things that look like everything else.
