Transmission “froze” tonight
Weirdest thing happened tonight. After parking the car, with the ignition still on, I tried to put it back in D to move the car forward because I had forgotten there were things in the trunk that I wanted to take out and I needed some extra room in order to open the rear hatch. But the transmission would not engage. Instead, I got a weird “A” symbol on the instrument panel (see picture below). ya know the owners manual would have all the symbols and the reason why it wouldnt move...

Did your seat belt still on or off?

Yeah. I assume he took the seat belt off with the ignition still on after placing it in park, thus activating the parking brake.

Just looked in the manual and that is the Automatic Brake Hold symbol. |
