Tilted Driver’s Seat

Hi All,

No matter how I adjust the many seat settings it feels like my drivers seat is tilted towards the door.

Has anyone else experienced this? Any idea of a seat adjustment that could address this? I have an Advanced model and have messed with the settings quite a bit.

Any input is appreciated!

Joe

Mine definitely does not feel that way and there's no adjustment for it that I'm aware of. Could be installed incorrectly and something your dealer should check out. How does the passenger seat feel?... does it 'lean' also?

Neither does mine.

Take a carpenter’s level to it. Get something objective going. Helps prove it ain’t an uneven butt sag issue.

Check your tire pressures.

Butt also observe the load limits of the vehicle.

Seriously, though, does the seat move laterally or just feel like it's tilted the same all the time? It it moves, I would suspect a mounting bolt is loose or missing. If it's stationary, there could be a problem with the seat frame or the "side bolsters" ( the "wings" on the side of the seat ). This vehicle has adjustable side bolsters on the front seats, but both sides of a seat "should" always be the same. Unless it's busted.

BTW, I have an Advance, and it doesn't feel like that.

Thanks for the input guys.

It it always feels tilted towards the door.

I’ve never felt this way sitting in another car and honestly didn’t notice it for the first few weeks of driving. Now that I’m about 1200 miles in it seems consistent.

I’m not a small dude, 6’ 1”, 220 - but I assume I’m still within the norm of drivers.

I will inspect closer with with a level as well.

Good thoughts.

Well... You won't blow away like a feather nor will an airliner fail to rotate before running out of runway, indeed, you are not the issue...

OK, I'm thinking the seat is inferior... Go to dealer, have it looked at... Go sit in a few other RDX's on the lot to see if they're any different... If they are, point it out... Request it be fixed... You'll likely get new mounting brackets or a replacement seat...

I could imagine a tilted seat to feel weird...

I'd say look for body damage under the seat, like if it were T-boned, and not straightened properly, but it's a new car, so we can rule out that...

Did you ever get this resolved? I'm having the same issue in an Advance and just can't get the drivers seat to feel right. I've not been back to the dealer yet but tire pressures are even and a level doesn't show anything abnormal.

Have you tried sitting in the front passenger seat to see if it feels the same way?

I’ve also had problems with the front passenger seat. The seat actually rocked from side to side believe it or not. They replaced the tracks altogether and that solved it.

Have you tried putting a level across the seat, side-to-side, to see if it's actually tilted?
