RAM Tough Wedge and an iPad in a 2022 RDX
It works great, my wife vetoed any kind of hard mount, This removes easily in ten seconds and can be stored on the floor or at home when not used for road trips. …l https://www.rammount.com/product-lines/tough-wedge
Here is the Acura nav screen:
And Pocket Earth Pro, same spot, much more detail:
This is how it looks from the drivers seat, with it positioned for the passenger to use:
More to come.

This shows the wedge raised up a little, with the iPad mount rotated for the driver to view and use it. It doesn’t get in the way of any of the Acura controls, but it is still within very easy reach.
The Tough Wedge by itself is too loose, it definitely needs the optional inflatable bladder. Half a dozen squeezes makes it really secure. It does wobble very slightly over rough pavement, but it is motionless on smooth roads. You could use a phone mount instead, anything with a 1” ball socket, if you want to park and charge your phone where it is visible. Be wary of local distracted driving laws!
In addition to Pocket Earth which I really like to use as a general travel atlas, I have other navigation apps, GAIA is the most useful, but that is mostly for when we are in the Land Cruiser 200 on forest or ranch roads, when the extra layers like topo, forest service, vehicle use maps, and land ownership layers are so helpful… especially when there is no cell signal, using downloaded map data.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, that is an iPad Mini 4. A full sized tablet would be too large IMHO.

I think it's great. It's snowing and dreary here, so I just ran into the garage (without my key fob of course) and took a few quick pictures for you to see.
I did not need the balloon insert, it fit right in there just great. Maybe because the weight of the iPhone Max and mount are far less than the larger iPad mount. Anyway, here's a quick, albeit dark, look at the mount with and without the phone. BTW - A bottle of coke works in the first cup holder with the mount, but I don't think a large soda or coffee will fit into the first cup holder with the phone mount in the placement that I am using, so you have that to consider.
The holder swivels so you can spin it anyway you like. In this picture it looks a bit skewed, but that can be easily rotated. The mount holds the phone great, cornering is no issue here,
Next time I'm in the car for real I'll try and get a better picture for ya

oblio98, thanks for the pics and comments. FYI that phone holder also works great to take time lapse videos using a tripod. Just buy a RAM 1" ball with a 1/4"-20 threaded base, screw that to the tripod, add you extension arm and the phone holder. Plug in a power cord because that really uses up the battery.
You can also flip and rotate your Tough Wedge 90 degrees up and move it back to about the seat back, then you can make "over the shoulder" driving videos.
