I have been reading the forums and stumbled upon Pohanka Acura in Virginia, close to Dulles/Washington airport.

I have checked 2 other Acura dealers closer to me, for the vehicle I was looking for which is. 2019 RDX AWD w/Advance package in blue exterior.
One dealer quoted me $47,400 +Taxes and fees, includes floor mat, wheel lock and trunk tray. I countered with $46,000 and was denied on the spot. Asked to meet in the middle and still no.
Another dealer quoted me an "internet price" of $46,260.
I ended up purchasing from Pohanka.

2019 RDX AWD w/Advance package Blue exterior
Price: $44,500
Loyalty offer: - $1,000
Trade-in: - $1,750 (was offered $1500 initially)
Doc Fee: $699
Sale Tax 6%: $2,627.58
Purchaser's online system filing fee: $10.60
Title/Lien Fees: $15.00
New Tags: $42.75
Dealer's business license tax: $72.68
Maintenance x 4 years: $2165.58 (I am going to cancel this. It is prorated written in the contract)

OTD price including maintenance: $47,383.19
OTD price after canceling Maintenance: $45,217.61 +all weather floor mats, +splash guards

I disagree to the offer below becoz of the trade in (He needs my trade in to get me $39,000 MSRP)

RDX Tech model MSRP $39,000 plus tax and fee, come up to about 42k OTD and $1000 loyalty which is applied to the downpayment.

The salesperson insists that I need to trade in my 2013 accord sport (48k mileages) for the deal. He offered 7850 for my trade in, I disagreed and asked for $10,000 for my trade in. KBB shows 10k-11k trade in.

he disagreed and I walked away.

Here is my question, why the $1,000 loyalty discount is after tax and apply to the downpayment but not to MSRP?
Paragon Honda/Acura is very dishonest from my past experience. I have had friends that have gone there and didn't have good experience. You can use the "instant cash" on KBB. It's value is slightly less than their range, but most dealers will honor those quotes.

Sale Price:$43,495.00
Doc fee:$80.00
State tax: $3,153
Dmv: 588.75

comes out to a little over $46k out the door.
I'm from norcal as well, can you let me know which dealer was it? Looking to get the same car

AWD. 41,500 is OK, but 40,800 is certainly better . Based on figures that other folks have posted regarding Pohanka, 41.5 was a mediocre offer. Radley agreed, apparently.

curious, did they pressure you on the maintenance plan? I have found myself cancelling several like things over the years since dealer seemed so intent on me signing up.
Acura oil changes and differential changes seem simple to me so & I like doing the work myself.

does new RDX have the 30k differential service?

Current offer on the table from Norris Acura here in MD is $44K out the door including taxes, tags, title, all dealer fees etc. for a 2019 Acura RDX SH-AWD A-Spec (Apex Blue on Ebony). Thoughts?

Thats excellent price considering MSRP is $46495 (including destination charge). that's exactly 10% discount. I don't think you can get it much lower than that, not at this time at least

That was my thought after doing some research. I reached out to Pohanka and their best offer was $43,250 before taxes + tags. I also reached out to Radley but they never got back to me.

its regional sometimes. I’ve noticed that once dealers know you are far away - they sometimes give you a better price for you to come over, otherwise they know you will get it local

Yes, my guy did pressure me. I caved in. He showed me some maintenance schedule and prices, mind you, the prices were probably inflated. Total maintenance for 4 years 48,000 miles was about $3,600. He swore I would save 40% by purchasing the plan which comes out to about 2100 with tax. I thought to myself, why not, since I have to do the maintenance anyways.

Here are my thoughts while driving home with the new car. My wife will be driving it. She will probably use less than 5k miles a year which means after 4 years, I would only be using services up to 20-25k miles. Waste of money in my opinion and I'm sure that's how they get people.

Anyhow, I read the terms of agreement and cancellation policy, wrote them a letter today and had it fedex to cancel the maintenance. You have to pay a $50 cancellation fee, but whatever. I will most likely do most of the work myself.

I got $3K off MSRP in Princeton NJ for my RDX Tech. Then I actually had an issue with the car... Bad bearing in the rear differential. You could a rotating sound when decelerating. (200 miles in BTW) They ended up replacing the rear differential. I told them I was pretty upset about this issue and they gave me $1K in free accessories. So I ended up getting mats, splash guard, and WELCOME LIGHTS. They look sick at night. In love with this car!

One dealer told me 5K off might be possible in the Spring before the new models came out.
they are moving the metal apparently without having to discount it appears.

I got a flyer from my sales guy for Friday. $500 off coupon if i get there before noon. I am thinking I will send him a reply that everyone here is averaging $3,000 off MSRP, plus getting accessories thrown in!

I am waiting until end of April. It would be great to get a good deal That’s how i got a great deal on my current RDX; a 2012 bought in march right before the 2013 redesigns came out.
But the thing is I have heard rumors that the 2020 A-Spec may have the adaptive dampers and HUD options that are on the Advance model. That would be even cooler.

I got a great deal on my 2008 RDX by buying it during the recession. Their opening offer to me was $1000 below invoice. Since they started from a position of weakness, I pushed them hard and got a great deal. I didn't even need the car, so I was okay to walk out. I also bought a house during the same time period. It was like the world on sale!

Cancel it, maintenance plan is BS. I still drive my 2008 RDX I bought new. I change oil and air filters myself, and when I go to the dealer I only request specific services like "change transmission, change differential and etc".
All their special packages are BS. Guess what, even when I go and say "change transmission fluid only", which runs around $120, they end up doing 100 point inspection for free. If you can't change your oil, thats fine, go to dealer, but say "change oil only", dont get "package"

it seems like from what i'm seeing here, that it is possible to get a 5k+1k loyalty discount (total of 6k off sticker) off a RDX AWD tech right now? Am i seeing things correctly?

An off topic post . If you order RDX accessories using the ebay phone app today use code PICKFAST before 8pm ET and get 15% off.

Back to normal programming.

I am going to be pricing here in OC in next week or two. What dealers did you contact for this price. Were your quotes after any rebates? If so can you specific which one. I am interested in either a Tech FWD or Advance FWD. Did you just round your quotes or were they that even number?

thanks

You can negotiate accessories with them. They gave a free remote starter for my RDX, i probably can ask for more. They also gave me the all weather cargo mat when i bought my A-Spec mat.

Same, Paragon Acura is one dishonest dealership, based from past experience. They use all the tactics by dishonest dealership, delay tactics, low balling your trade-in, adding the "warranty" fee, adding gap insurance etc.

after 3 hours email negotiation, they may agree to $38,000 MSRP (including the loyalty discount) for Tech AWD but not yet confirmed. I'm awaiting for the internet salesperson to confirm it for me on Friday (They are close on Thanksgiving). I'm asking for free all weather Mat, Cargo Tray, Cargo Cover and Wheel lock as well. Not sure if they are gonna give it to me for free.

What is your deal again? you mentioned it before but I forgot.

Yes I did the math, 39000 *1.08875 ( sale tax) + 750 (plates and BS fees) - 1000 (Loyalty discount) = 42,211 is what I need to paid.

I would like to trade in my car (2013 accord sport 48k mileages) and hopefully get 10-11k per KKB. Paragon low ball my trade in to $7800 and insists that I need to trade in my car for a good deal of $39,000 for Tech AWD

I will update after the DCH Montclair salesperson confirms it.

Yeah, in OC socal , maybe more demand, dealers asked for higher price. I asked for RDX shawd aspec for $46K OTD price and no go
one place asked for $47K OTD for blue rdx shawd aspec and they never call me. Look like other states has better pricing.

. Paragon low ball my trade in to $7800 and insists that I need to trade in my car for a good deal of $39,000 for Tech AWD

If you want to get 10K for your trade in, and pay 39K for new car, you can tell them that you are willing to pay net debit of 29K for this transaction. Let them play with numbers. The only thing that will impact you is the tax, if they put small dollar amount on your trade in, you will pay more in sales tax... but that's insignificant.
