RDX 19 price paid
hi, i bought my 2019 sh-awd white on 6/1. Msrp was 40,295. Got discount of $295. Also 1k loyalty. Traid-in RDX17' tech, 14000 miles. 1 accident on carfax for 27K. In NYC.

Just put the order in for A-Spec Black / Black yesterday. Apparently not a common color combination people want for A-Spec and won't be build till late July.

Thank you for sharing. Did you receive the loyalty discount because of recent Acura ownership, because you are financing with Acura, or did the dealer just throw it in? I have seen in a few posts where it looks like the dealer offered the loyalty discount just to close the deal.

Yeah I am really struggling on this one! Love the look of the Black/Black ASpec (and even the Metallic Silver which looks sharp with the black trim and wheels) and cant decide whether I want to give up on the additional Advanced features (not too concerned about the price difference)...

I don’t believe the ASpec has the kick opener for the hatch but they sell a trim piece to cover part of the fascia for hitch equipped ASpecs. Unsure if it is really needed and would be interested in seeing what the hitch looks like on the ASpec.

If you can wait until August, ill post a picture for the hitch on the ASpec haha.
I found the attached picture in the accessory installation manual. It looks like that's what the bumper will look like when the hitch is installed on the ASpec

A photo would be appreciated, I will wait at least until late October. Would be looking at an ASpec with hitch and wiring.
The Canadian site lists a trailer hitch garnish cover for $157.40 Canadian for the ASpec. This looks different from the cover panel and much smaller. Really wonder what would warrant such an expensive piece of plastic and am assuming this is likely not needed.

yes it does. The hitch install instructions specify that another, smaller kick sensor is required for the hitch install and it is located left of center after the hitch is installed. This means more $$ for those going aftermarket, as etrailer won’t provide a sensor. I want 2-inch receiver, so definitely going aftermarket. Alternatively we could probably just take out the center kick sensor and go without if that feature is not important to you.

i thought a 2” put you in class 3 but regardless I’m glad you aren’t thinking about towing 5000 lbs!
There are bike racks - mine is by Thule I think - that are convertible between 1-1/4” and 2” receivers if getting a dealer hitch is important. We use it on our Jeep and just realized it will work in the RDX as well.

Got back from the dealer after test driving a '19 Advance AWD. His initial 'offer' was MSRP for the new vehicle and ~$4K less than KBB trade-in value for my trade. 
We have a ways to go before I'll be driving one, or a long wait for demand to subside.

I have looked into the the factory install (my preference) but don't want to add the 1.25 to 2" adapter. The issue with the adapters is that 1) they add length to the overall rack, which means more force applied or tongue weight used and 2) they add more wobble or shimmy to the overall system

Given the difficulty of getting discounts on the RDX, the hype has not worn out just yet. Everyone loves a deal, which makes the X3 and Q5 more attractive, but for the same features as the Acura you are likely going to have to pay more. And there is the question of whether you want to drive a BMW or Audi, and I would prefer not to.

I have the Saris Thelma 3-bikes rack. Ridiculously easy and fast to load/unload the bikes. It fits on 1-1/4" receiver ( or 2" with supplied adapter). Unfortunately they don't make a 4-bikes model.

I live in Canada so things may be different but yea couldn't get any discount. I was only able to get a decent trade in value for my 2007 RDX and free protection package and that's it....

Q5, X3, GLC, RDX..... all good choices. There is no need to bash one vs another. If want to drive a Q5 and got the money for it, kudos to you. No need to bash others to justify your decisions or convince others. Let go your own insecurity and be confident in whatever you decide

Finally had an opportunity to take a test drive. Salesman said they are not budging from MSRP as others have reported. He said the best they can do is throw in some dealer options, floor mats, etc... (about a "$900" value...more like a fifth of that, I'm sure). He said not to anticipate any dealer price negotiating until almost the next model year is out. I don't quite believe that, but I am also not in any hurry to purchase if true. I can wait until prices come down a bit...or until I find something else just as agreeable.
