There is a PDF on the Acura Owners site that is essentially the same as above. It only has 3 pages. Most worrisome is that really none of the significant issues are called out in the fixes. We were forced to pull a fuse yesterday when the infotainment system emitted a loud chirp, then froze and stopped all audio. Would not shut off even after the ignition was shut off. Of course, this has happened to others, but a first for us. Carplay continues to skip during playback and often the touchpad becomes very slow to respond.

Our first service is coming due and we may have to push the dealership. I hope this update resolves the issues that we and other have seen.

Newsy1904 12-12-2018 11:37 AM

No Android Auto,
no fix for the SMS Message Notification "Screech"
no fix for the "Your device is not connected" when AcuraLink is showing as connected on your phone and music is playing via Bluetooth from your phone.

Looks like this was a fix for Apple Carplay issues and not a whole lot for Android users.

*sigh*

Anyone do it yet?

If so, how long did it take, and done by wifi or usb?

mrblase 12-12-2018 11:48 AM

Can't do it. Tried for the last 30 minutes but all I get is that my software is up to date. Looks like it can only be done using WI-FI connection , and the car sees my home router and says its connected and the allow updates using this connection is set to "allow". So I'm giving up for the time being.

jonarogers 12-12-2018 11:48 AM

Nothing yet...

I still believe you can update either way (WiFi of USB) but the update hasn’t been made available yet via either method.

The write up I just pulled from the owner's site says that the new software version is D.1.0.7 which I believe is on vehicles manufactured in the early fall time frame and later. So if this fits you, then there would be no new software. I would expect that the earlier built vehicles will soon have the opportunity to move to this level when everything is set up and that is really the only audience for this upgrade. I think the older level is D.1.0.4. Am I missing something on this?

nyr726 12-12-2018 12:31 PM

disappointed

thanks for nothing Acura !!!!

I know it stinks but I know I don’t want to be the one that has it crash my system. If they are verifying the update works properly via dealer vehicles first then I’m O.K. With that.

Madd Dog 12-12-2018 12:46 PM

I got the same ‘no update’ as did jonarogers, and my build is 1.0.4

Coolguy 12-12-2018 12:47 PM

false hope as they should be doing proper QA before releasing the update. They shouldn't/can't rely on dealers for testing as it involves actual cars

My car is definitely version 1.0.4 built in May.

Hou-RL 12-12-2018 01:46 PM

My car is showing an update available but I have not tried to update it. I hope someone updates their by the time I get home later today.

Hey just a quick question. Since you are on the latest version, have you had any issues with it locking up with Apple Car Play?

Here's the PDF on the owners site - pretty much says the same that posted originally with a couple additional comments that the update will take about 30 minutes and the vehicle can be used normally while it's happening (could be a problem if you're updating via your home router and want to go anywhere).

I am using android, but I connected to my friend's Iphone X a couple of time, I don't experience any issue (know that I didn't really intentionally test it)

I've experience disconnecting phone call on android phone a couple time though, then it takes ,3-5 second, then it reconnected again.

I also just got an email stating in the subject “A software update is available for your 2019 RDX”. Going to do it now via WiFi.

Did you have the engine running, ignition on but engine not running, or accessory mode?

Stew4HD 12-12-2018 02:28 PM

Still no Android Auto?

Still not quite sure how I'm supposed to do that when my home WiFi is several stories above my parking spot in the underground parkade. Guess I'll be parking outside Starbucks or Timmy's if they don't get the USB update sorted soon (assuming they ever release the update for us Canuckistanis; I've seen no reports of such here yet).

Coolguy 12-12-2018 02:41 PM

Got an email for software update availability.

Boltface 12-12-2018 02:48 PM

Got the email saying that a software update is available for my RDX but the RDX says no update available. I was already at 1.0.7.

Of course there's no reason for Acura to know what level of software I have they just built the thing.

Today somehow my wife got into a can't do anything mode trying to listen to FM, no FM no nothing, frozen.

Now FM is gone from the home screen and will not return no matter how many times I try.

Same here. Came home and system said an update was available. Engine does not need to be running and it took about 10 minutes as well.

fligster 12-12-2018 03:03 PM

Got the email. Downloaded and prepared, just did the "Update while turned off". I am going to the gym and will check it when I am back. I am also filming for a video of the update process on my Youtube channel. will post a link when that is up.

TheFidge 12-12-2018 03:05 PM

I just did the update through wi-fi with the car running. Downloading, preparing, and installing took 20-30 minutes. It froze once when it started to install so I had to reboot, then it worked. It installed, but have not had a chance to see if things are fixed or worse..... time will tell.

rdxny 12-12-2018 03:16 PM

I updated 1.04 to 1.07. 10 minutes on wifi, said update failed with an error code but update went through.
I see nothing worth it, no features, and the one bug I tested (that the pdf doc says is fixed) is sending a map to the car (when off)... still does not work. No AA.
I am disappointed.

Not saying this is your case, but the same thing happened to me a few weeks ago, and it resulted in the car being at the dealer for the last 16 days getting the Infotainment system replaced. Again, I'm not saying that's what's in store for you...let's hope not.

Did you try disconnecting the battery and/or pulling the fuse?

Njbrandon 12-12-2018 03:31 PM

Did the OTA update fix the brake squeal? 🤣

Coolguy 12-12-2018 03:35 PM

not only break squeal but the wide body gaps too

No, which fuse is that?

Jeffro941 12-12-2018 03:46 PM

HUGE disappointment. This update just brings me up to the current level of frustration with the Infotainment system. The promise of a “couple months” for Android Auto back in May is now looking like a year. Nav system still can’t show me more than a couple blocks around me. Hope this update helps some of those with more serious infotainment problems.

kboo74656 12-12-2018 03:48 PM

Got the emails saying there was an update for mine. After checking the software version noticed I am already on 1.0.7. No update needed. Oh well now I'm waiting for the next map update from HERE early next year. Time to have some Crown Apple!!!
