I thought the MDX interior looked great....If I needed a bigger vehicle, would have taken it for a test drive....and it already has android auto!!

Positives for me on the NX:
-Availability of the Hybrid engine
-Kick to open/close tailgate
-Lexus reliability and resale value (but resale value, and residual value, is less on NX than RX)

BTW, NX stands for "Nimble Crossover")
I had an NX for 3 years before trading it for the RDX. The NX is luxury whereas the RDX is sporty. Little details like the windows slow as they are about to close so it doesn't thunk, leather lined door pockets instead of hard plastic, felt lined glove box, power telescoping steering wheel, folding mirrors, coin tray, cornering lights, rain sensing wipers, etc. The nav traffic was also much more detailed down to side streets while the RDX only seems to do highways.

The problem is once you drive it you see how much better the RDX handles and corners. The NX has awd torque steer. When you accelerate semi-hard it pulls to the side, or if you are turning while accelerating then the front wheels will break loose. I will say after 3 years I never had a single problem with the NX (can't say the same for the RDX I've already been to the dealer 6 times in 3 months and still have unresolved issues). Also very strong resale value. Oil changes were once a year or 12,000 miles (first 2 services free), so I only ended up spending about $200 in 3 years of ownership.

Did you have the NX F-Sport with adaptive variable suspension and Sport+ mode? That made a huge difference compared to the base model I test drove. It really improves the handling and feel. That along with the sport seats sold me on it. But yes I would agree that in general the RDX handles better.

My F Sport didn't have the Sport+ mode. I thought that was only a Canadian option because it wasn't available on the 2015 NX.

Maybe it was added with the 2018 refresh. AVS is required. I believe Sport only changes the throttle and shifting where Sport+ also changes the suspension.

i know everyone is different, and much of this is subjective, but I test drove almost everything that competes with the RDX, and the NX was for me last on my list. I felt like I was driving a RAV4, and the interior was to me, the ugliest of them all. It felt cramped, and it didn’t scream luxury to me at all.

if I had unlimited funds and was willing to wait months to order what I wanted, the Mercedes GLC was the most luxurious and best driving of them all. The RDX just hit the sweet spot for me.

It is interesting how tastes vary so much. I really like the interior of the NX and it feels more luxury to me vs the RDX A-Spec. I think the interior noise level contributed to that feeling as well. If they ever come out with an Advance A-Spec and no fake engine noise, I'm in.

Which RDX trim did you get?

Advance, with the espresso interior, which we love with the wood accent trim.

I do get confuse with the fake engine noise. I recall reading that it was only on during sport+ mode, but now I'm not sure from all the posts here. We drive mostly in comfort mode.

Stop calling it engine "noise". It's engine sound.

That by itself doesn't make it dated. Many new cars, e.g. the A6, have a dual screen setup. It's more of how it's implemented in terms of UI, usability, etc.

Did you pick your feet there?

BTW, we had below zero windchills here a couple days ago. Miss it?

LOL famous quote from The French Connection! I was born in Vassar Hospital, then my folks moved us to Calif when I was 4 years old,

I get cold when we have mornings when the temp. is just below freezing. So no, I can't say I miss the REAL cold. But on the other hand, I DO miss all the greenery you have there compared to the southern AZ desert. And I could do without the 3 months of 100+ here.

We are driving down to Florida on Friday to stay a month. I love being able to live in the beautiful Hudson Valley, and to also get out for a bit in the dead of winter.

Too bad I had to get old to do it.

Any idea if there are any "pre-made" flash drives of high-quality audio (like demo discs??) that can be purchased online? I searched but couldn't find anything.

There isn't any that I know of. I have a bunch of DVD-As that I kept. The older Acuras used to play DVD-A and DTS-CDs. I miss that.
