My review of the 2019 RDX
Things I like
- Seat comfort.
- Headlight intensity -- illuminates very well.
- Quality of materials.
- Interior and exterior design.
- NSX inspired shifter/center console.
- Steering, handling, power.
- Ride comfort.
- Capless fuel filler.
Things that are OK but that could be improved (maybe 4th gen RDX)
- Gauges could be made less busy -- no need for kmph and mph at the same time in a digital speedometer.
- When switching between displays in the center no need to shrink them small and have a delay, switch as full size. And re-do the information to be less wordy.
- Better ambient lighting -- map lights feel underpowered.
- Change to a touchscreen infotainment.
- MPG. Fortunately gas prices are muted and will likely remain that way as more cars switch to hybrid/electric drivetrains.
- Better implementation of rear camera -- make it usable in rain, leave camera on for a few seconds when switching from R to D, more accurate guidelines (lines don't match up with the where the car's wheels are).
- Move the BLIS from the A pillar to the mirror.
- Lane departure warning is oversensitive.
- Lane keep assist doesn't work very well.
Things that are broken by design (must be fixed ASAP)
- Unable to see trip computer, miles till empty, or any other car information (tire pressure, change navigation, etc.) when on a call.
- Seat comfort.
- Headlight intensity -- illuminates very well.
- Quality of materials.
- Interior and exterior design.
- NSX inspired shifter/center console.

The shrinking of cluster menus annoys me too. I don't see the reason for it. When I first did the 1.0.7 update it kept them full size when switching, then next time I started the car it reverted back to shrinking them and has ever since.

Why? What purpose does that serve? Both my Audi and my Jeep do this, but it can be turned off. I can't think of a single time when I'd want or need to see the back-up camera display once I shift out of reverse. But obviously some people like to see behind them for a few seconds after they are done backing up. Why though? I seriously don't get it...

As mentioned, helps with parking. Also, I've got an Audi too, and I like the feature as it allows me to pull away and still see my garage door go down.

Sorry I forgot to put the all important data in my review. It's an SH-AWD Tech. The info is in my signature but the signature doesn't show on mobile devices.
FWIW, a mobile device allows you to view the full desktop version of a page if so desired, e.g.

I wish I had learned how to do it for backing into spaces. The only time I ever used my mirror for parking is the tilted mirror to see the curb when parallel parking, but I still got curb rash because of lack of skill. I find the camera is more accurate even for parallel parking (once I account for Acura's guiding lines being a little to the outside from the wheels), allowing me to eliminate curb rash.

I'm not as flexible as I used to be, so I don't turn around to look out the rear window. I use the mirrors and the back up camera. I find the back up camera is excellent and the alerts work well.

I had posted this question earlier and did not get a response.

I will reference this thread from there so people can find the solution.
