Agreed. Looks ugly and dumb. SUVs lowered makes no sense. If it were a sporty race car at least that makes sense.

Looks silly, like the car fell on top of its wheels.

I generally like lowered cars but bagging it that far just ruins the proportions. I think the crossovers with a sleek roofline (Q5, CX-5, RDX and some others) all look good with a slight lowering (1-2") to give it the jumbo hot hatch look (it also makes getting in and out easier for us shorter folk - I'm 5'6" and my wife is 5'3"). Like: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/q5-...y-sq5-2931912/ (this is probably a 3" drop so on the extreme end).

What would look good is if you just added spacers so that the tires sit flush with the fenders. No need to actually lower the car to improve the stance.

Just my two cents.

I suspect with the stock ride height that this would make things look worse because it makes the wheel gap even more obvious (I'm a dumb idiot who got wider wheels which gave my car the 4x4 look - fixed it by lowering it an inch). I suspect a 1-1.5" lowering plus wheels that are 10-15mm further out to the fender would look pretty sharp though.

How much would be appropriate to eliminate excessive wheel gap?

you dont want to eliminate wheel gap.
that's how the proportions get thrown off.

you want it to have the natural rake look, but lowered enough to not make it look 4x4

since it's on AIR, it can achieve this VERY easy...however, the papichulo ONLY wants to stunt...or showoff as by the way he's posing with a hookah...
lol what a loooooser

This is the RDX lowered by 2" on Eibach springs with a set of HRE wheels that I'm guessing are something like a 21x9 and likely an offset of 30-40mm which means it sticks out about a inch further than normal. I think this stance looks great - less of a truck and more of hot hatch/wagon. No word on when these springs will come out though.

I think maybe all it needs now is just a touch of negative camber.

I will NEVER understand why people think lowering SUV's and pickup trucks to such a degree is aesthetically appealing. It looks horrible.

With that being said, I had a 2012 Kia Sorento SX which comes with a 0.5-1" drop from the factory and it looked amazing compared to the regular ones.
