Import Phone Contacts
I have been able to successfully pair my Galaxy Note 8 with the New RDX and play music through my phone and use Bluetooth audio when I initiate a phone call. However, when I want to call someone in my Contacts list it does not bring up any contacts, and I have not been able to find an option to "import contacts." Is anyone else having this issue? If this a result of Android Auto not being ready yet?

TLMDXRDX,
I don't have my RDX yet, but the owners manual (page 363) under the phone menu it has a "auto sync phone".

On page 358, there is a link to compatible phones.
To use HFL, you need a Bluetooth-compatible cell
phone. For a list of compatible phones, pairing
procedures, and special feature capabilities:
• U.S.: Visit Acura HandsFreeLink | Bluetooth Connectivity for Acura Cars, or call 1-
888-528-7876.
• Canada: For more information on smartphone
compatibility, call 1-888-528-7876.
When I entered TMobile and Samsung, the only phones listed were Galaxy S9 and S9+. Some carriers also had compatible S8s. However, when you select your phone, it lists what features will be available. One of the features is the ability to download contacts. I don't know if the only phones listed will work, if only certain features will work or if I will have to upgrade my "ancient" Galaxy Note 4 when my RDX arrives. I sincerely hope the tiny list of compatible phones is just not updated and any bluetooth phone will work. Hopefully this has nothing to do with your problem but you might just check the link to see if that feature is available for your phone and carrier.

When I originally paired my phone (Motorola Moto G), there was a prompt asking permission for the address book and call history.
Perhaps try deleting the phone and pairing it again.
A lot of compatible phones are not on the short list but, actually work without issues.

Just curious, does the RDX have the capacity to input commonly called numbers that you can scroll on the centre dash menu screen - as I have any enjoy with my 2016 TLX Tech? I call those folks 90% of the time and it takes 2-3 seconds.

You can put favorites on the main screen for quick access. However if you use CarPlay - and I assume the same will go for AA - those systems work independent of Acura’s. Meaning the shortcuts will not work while CP/AA are active. You have to choose a horse in this race.

I almost never use the phone in the car, even with hands free. Other than 4G, I keep wifi, GPS and Bluetooth all turned off most of the time. I only turn stuff on as needed.
But the first time I paired my phone, I just called my wife by saying "call Lori". She was sitting next to me and her phone rang. I don't remember exactly how I did it but it seemed obvious. I don't think I imported any contacts, unless it just happened automatically. But there must be access to the contacts list, somehow. I didn't do any voice training on the hands free link or anything. I just spoke clearly (without my Noo Yawk accent). I'm sure you have to speak the exact entry in your contact list.
I have a Galaxy S3. It doesn't get much older than that.

Check that “auto synch” is on. See page 369 in the PDF manual. It is on the phone menu screen.
The car should be on, in Park, and wait for your phone to pair.

I have a Note 9 which works well with the RDX. You need to go into the Bluetooth settings for HandsFreeLink and make sure Contact Access and Message Access are both enabled. Settings > Bluetooth > HandsFreeLink > Click on gear icon.
