Front Lower Trim (accessory) installation help

Does anybody have any tips for getting the fog light trim off (a-spec) so I can install the front lower trim accessory? I had the bumper and fog lights off, but I could not get the fog light trim off. I followed the instructions and had all 11 retaining tabs loose and It wouldn't budge, seemed like there was something else holding it on, but there were no other clips or screws. Hours later I gave up and put it all back together. What am I missing?

Did you check the instruction here? http://www.urvi.net/forumfiles/SB/BII07802-15.PDF

Yep, 7 pages of instructions for a little piece of bling.
Hardly seems worthwhile.

Figured it out...

You must have an aspec.
The reason Acura states the front lower trim is incompatible is because the front trim shrouds (painted black on the aspec), attach from the front, through the bumper, and into the fog light shrouds BEHIND the bumper.

There are 4 of the 11 snap clips that run along the vertical seam of the of the black front trim. These are behind the fog light housing ductwork. If you pull/separate the ductwork from the bumper you can see these 4 body clips deep in there- and they are nearly impossible to access to click them loose.

This leads me to believe Honda considers this a non reversible one time install, in that replacement costs to much and it’s cheaper to break the front trims off and install fresh than try a remove and replace. New front trims are $85/side.

A job that would have taken an hour, took almost 5, a lot of cussing, every long tool in the drawer, and eventually even an extra set of hands. I only broke one trim clip on each side, I can live with that... but I’ll never do this install again.

I’m happy with the results though, the front lip really makes the ASpec pop.

I’ll snap a pic when mommas home...

Oh....wow. They look great (Wunderwagen did it or had it done?) but after reading all this, and I have an A-spec....how fast can you spell 'return Front Lower Trim (accessory)'. There is no part of cars from the 60's and into the probably early 70's that I have not disassembled/modified/replaced/reassembled/whatever, but it's the proliferation of plastic clips and parts, etc. on cars since then that makes me afraid to touch anything. I would love to have this done but the cost would be tough.

Sorry everyone, on ours we have a 2020 Tech that we did the A-spec trim conversion on... but had our dealer add the trim and front spoiler at the same time as our fog light install so it was minimal extra labor cost. Didn't realize a factory A-spec install would be more complicated. :(
