Folding Cargo Mat

I recently bought the folding cargo tray. The quality is ok and I like that it folds. My problem is if you are trying to access the back floor compartments it gets in the way. You pretty much have to lift it out of there. I also wish for the stock folding cover that there is a way to prop it up so you dont have to hold it while grabbing things. I am going to have to slightly modify it so that is not an issue. Anyone else notice this, or a spot where it latches up?

It only folds out of the way of the larger under-floor compartment.

I haven't found a place that is handy for propping it up or latching it in the up position.

The benefit is that it folds at all and provides access to the tie-down D-rings. The ones from WeatherTech (if they ever offer one for the 2019) and other manufacturers do not fold anywhere.

My RDX isn't here yet, so obviously I haven't been able to try this out. But I was thinking about putting this cargo protector on the back of the seats, and then using two small pieces of heavy-duty velcro that would allow the cargo tray to be propped up whenever needed.

Has anyone tried out this cargo protector? Not sure I would use the covers on the side panels, maybe just on the seat backs. Seems like it would be nice to have whenever you drop the back seats for cargo. I guess you could even try using velcro with the standard seat backs if you don't want the protector.

Agree on the obvious miss by Acura for holding up the floor panel. Good feedback on the cargo tray. I will probably pass on getting it if it interferes with the cargo space. There’s a lot of work stuff in there I will access frequently.

Could probably put a piece of Velcro against the seat back to hold it up

For the cargo area it looks like the Acura OEM protector may still be the best bet since it folds easy. Can anyone confirm if theres a better option out there that allows access to the hidden storage?

Thanks.

WeatherTech makes them, but no, none of the aftermarket ones fold. I don't understand that. Why bother making it if it's not right for the car. That's why I got the OEM cargo tray and ... well, what the heck, the floor mats to match.
