First snow storm!!! In Delaware... How did she do....
So we got about 3-4 inches of snow and ice today and here’s my take: HANDLED IT LIKE A CHAMP!
I have the Aspec so I was worried that the 20’s and stock tires were going to have me white knuckling my travels today. I didn’t have to go far, but it was before plows were out and it was pretty bad. I wouldn’t have wanted to be in any front wheel drive car or rear drive truck let’s put it that way. I saw 3 accidents on my 10 mile drive.
The takeoffs from dead stops were amazing. I couldn’t get this this spinning or slipping. No fishtailing or sloloming. Just smooth sailing and confidence.
stopping was fine. I only got up to speeds of about 35-40 on main roads and maybe 25 on side roads. But left a lot of distance to be safe. And no problems stopping. Didn’t feel like abs kicked in at all and so sliding either. Impressive!
then came the fun of a 2 lane side road with bends and some hills. All good there! I watched a Mercedes box truck spin out, an rx350 slide all over the road, and Toyota SUV of some sort nearly kill 2 mailboxes.
That was all snow. Coming home it changed to sleet and things were a little dicier, but no problems at all. The above held true. I purposely side tracked into a lm unplowed community to do more testing. I think you’d need to be really aggressive or plain stupid to get in trouble with this.
There is one thing I must do - get the mud flaps! The undercarriage by the doors and bumper were packed with snow. Gotta get the guards on ASAP!

We've had snow in my area twice this week but (un)fortunately the road surfaces are still too warm for any accumulation. I've really been wanting to get out and play a bit. There's a church with a huge parking lot about 1/2 mile from my house and it's my 'playground' until the plows get there.

It’s a mess here in Pa, too. I was out about an hour ago, about 6 inches on the ground, roads are very slick, and it’s coming down heavy. First time using snow mode and it handled great. On one steep hill I was climbing, I could feel the tires spinning a bit, but I still felt in control and it made it up just fine.

Today here in NJ we got about 3-5 inches. Let me tell you the RDX just sticks the road!
I drove in both SNOW and SPORT +.
Normal driving is when i had it in snow.
But when i wanted to have some fun that's when i changed it to sport +

I was impressed with my A-Spec's snow handling. No slippage and easily handled a few inches of snow. Much better than my wife's 4matic which can get a little sideways at times.

I wish I had the RDX today. Took 4 hours for a normal 45 minute drive in some of the worse road conditions I’ve ever driven in. I will say though, my TSX held strong and got me home safe. Penndot on the other hand should be sent into a ditch. Terrible response today.

Glad I have an RDX in this storm (we have about 4” on the ground and still going) but even gladder that I was home and did not have to test it. You can have the best car in the snow and other people can still hit you.
Be safe.

Vacationing in the Pocono Mountains in northeastern PA. Haven't driven in the snow, so can't report on that. She's just sitting pretty in the hotel parking lot...lol. Planning on venturing out in the a.m. to head to Jim Thorpe.
This was when the snow first started falling at around 1:30 p.m. today. We probably have about 8" or so as of this writing (close to 8:30 p.m.)

Advanced model in snow mode and in 6 inches it was like the road was dry. Had to rescue my son who's Altima could not get up a hill coming home from work. The RDX had zero problem and I couldn't spin the wheels in any situation when I tried. Just beautiful handling in very tough conditions. Car has factory Continental tires.

I don't know if it's fair to compare the new RDX with other cars on the road in the snow..lol. I'd imagine since the car is so new, the stock tires would still have quite a bit of tread left. The other cars spinning around or getting stuck could be using worn all-season or summer tires.
When I first put a set of Extremecontact DWS on my old RDX, it handled the snow alright. After 60000km with the same tires, I was sliding all over the place and it could barely stop. I switched to some X-Ice XI3 and boy it doesn't feel like the road is slippery at all.

Continental CrossContacts up here too, but I sold those when I upgraded my summer rims and tires.
I changed my summer rims and tires this past Monday just in time for last night's dumping of snow. Mix in a some above freezing overnight temperatures and I woke up to a few centimeters of thick packing snow. It was nice being able to use AcuraLink remote start to warm up the cabin while I cleared the snow from vehicle. One disappointment was that the radar sensor became inoperable because it became covered in snow - a big warning message flashed on the instrument panel. Once in the parking lot at work I checked to see how much snow/slush had accumulated on the emblem, and to be honest, it wasn't much. It wasn't caked on, it was more slush than snow. Oh well, modern technology isn't foolproof.

Well I ordered $3k worth of winter tires and rims from Tire Rack last week and they should arrive today. This morning we got about 5cm of snow. There were more than 50 collisions in our city. I had to get to an important meeting so I ventured out on the stock 20s and was blown away at how well the vehicle performed, I almost regret spending on winter tires now. The thing is a beast in the snow, and I didn't even have much trouble stopping. I can't imagine how sweet it will be with the winters on.

Yeah, it only remembers Comfort and Sport. I guess that's a good thing. My motorcycle (Triumph Tiger) will always jump back to road mode from offroad after a restart too.

On Thurs NY had up to 6 inches of snow/slush/ice that froze. I wasn't happy with the 8 hour commute for 19 miles, but my ASpec handled the conditions perfectly. Many cars, trucks and buses were abandoned on the side of the steeper streets, but I had no trouble keeping traction (during the rare times I could move!). The car drove great in snow mode. The radar didn't work with the snow covered grill, but who needs radar when it takes 2 hours to go one city block.

I have the A-Spec with Goodyears also, have never heard much good about the RSAs. We had snow here in Chicago, and they were fine, but I am guessing as they wear, traction will get much worse. Tire Rack review says winter/snow performance is poor and they are rated 3 stars out of 5, which is not so good.

im making a trip from cali to colorado this winter, and looking for some winter tires, that are actually decent on dry. from all the reviews that ive heard, xi3 are the way to go, for studless, if you want performance winters, then blizzaks lm001s, or some alpins

Which tires did you end up installing on your car?

I was driving on the A-Spec Goodyear's today on Angeles Crest Highway (So Cal), still wet at sections due to mountain drainage. I was on a gentle curve at about 30 MPH and the whole vehicle slipped sideways. The wet patch was about 10 ft x 10 ft with the surrounding road dry. I was shocked as the sliding. But at least the car quickly regained control. I will be changing the Goodyears out once their time comes.
