Black roof vinyl wrap
Considering doing a black roof wrap on a 2019 A-Spec (Lunar Silver paint).
Any thoughts or recommendations? Glossy or flat black? Definitely want something higher quality that will last.
Left or Right?

Gloss for sure, that’s what I’d like to wrap mine in. Haven’t been able to get an estimate since all the shop hours are M-F which is what I work.

Thanks for all the input. Having it delivered from the dealer by the end of the week. First step is to add a little tint and do a glossy wrap on the roof (and mirrors - good call vvlien). Will also look into a replacement shark fin antenna in black. Hopefully they are easy to swap out? Not sure if the wrap would last on a thin antenna, but maybe can try it. Thanks again, will follow up with pics as soon as it is done!

That's actually the dilemma I am having. Took it to the shop and got the tint done, but can't decide if just doing the roof will look ok. Spoiler would need to be done to look right. Just not a good transition point / break-line between the two pieces. Same with the A-pillar. May have to think on it for a bit...

I swear I remember seeing a white A-spec RDX with a gloss black hood. I thought the roof was gloss black too. It may have had a roof rack. I can't find the photo, but if you can, it might give you some ideas. Either way, please post photos when you are done. Your ideas of the wrap on the silver sound awesome! I haven't decided on the color I will get, but this has me thinking.....

Phun with Photoshop. Let the debates begin.
Black roof, A Pillars, and mirrors. The A pillar looks a bit weird due to natural break in sheet metal.
Black roof, A Pillars, and mirrors. The A pillar has a bit extra wrapped to try and normalize the way it should start. How it would look in real life is debatable.

I agree. I think the new Volvo XC40 has a model with black roof. I think it looks weird including the pillars..or half of the C (or is it D?) pillar as Volvo did. Maybe another current crossover as well?

On the XC40 it is the D pillar and I actually do like it, but only because the rest of the vehicle is so understated whereas the RDX has a lot of lines so it looks very busy.

I wouldn't do it - it reminds me of two-tone cars from the '50s & '60s.
But I am considering gloss vinyl for the chrome body trim to make it more A-Spec-like. Not the grill; I like the chrome around the grill.
