Any of you doing first Oil Change and Filter, other than sending it to the dealer

Just wondering if anybody doing oil change and filter themselves, not sending it to the dealer, and what oil brand and filter you choose? Tks

I will be doing my own oil change, waiting for the MID to show 20% life and will be using Acura filter with Mobil 1 0W20.

This has been discussed in several threads, here most recently:

There is nothing wrong with DIYing any of the services. But it's critical that you keep all your receipts and stuff. If something goes wrong they can deny you warranty work on account of no proof of completed services. It's for that very reason I would do all my services at the dealer while under warranty. If something goes wrong, they can't blame it on you

My first 5 OCs are provided by the dealer so it's going to be at least that long before I consider any alternatives.

This is exactly one of the reason why I decide to ask folks in this thread, is it possible that the dealer can or would refuse warranty claim, because as simple as doing oil change and filter other than the dealer, I myself will not doing it, I will bring it to my licence mechanic..just saying..

No not at all, they cannot refuse you warranty work for doing the work somewhere else. However they can refuse you warranty work if you don't do the services at all obviously. So just keep your records is all I'm saying.

This.
