Adaptive Suspension - Details ?

I'm liking the advance model in part bc of the adaptive suspension but there isn't really much info out there about the type of dampers used; supplier brand, etc.

Has me wondering: Does the advance model ride better in comfort mode bc the setting soften things up, or is there some other wizardry going on that constantly adjusts the damping and always make the ride feel more sophisticated and stable in any mode?

I think sometimes people think adaptive suspension is like air suspension which it is not. I think, although i'm not sure, that adaptive suspension means you can adjust the firmness but it is not actively changing based on road conditions. Anyone have more insight into this? TIA

Active Damper System (ADS) (Advance Package)
New to the 2019 RDX in the Advance Package, the Active Damper System is part of the vehicle's Integrated Dynamics System (IDS) that also controls the Electric Power Steering (EPS), Drive-by-Wire™ throttle system, Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®) and traction control. Controlled by a microprocessor using information from the Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) system's wheel sensors, yaw/G sensor, engine rpm and torque, and steering angle, the Active Damper System can adjust every 0.002 seconds to adapt individual wheels to road surfaces.

Thanks for that! I forgot about the press kit. Seems there is some "active-ness" going on there.

All I can say is the car has the best ride in any vehicle I have ever owned.. Drove about 300 miles this last Saturday and it was the most pleasant drive I think I have ever experienced.
