Acura 345-HP A-Spec for SEMA

I'm only a couple days away from receiving my A-Spec and am thinking about how great it would be to have that additional power.

A little underwhelming for a SEMA car, considering BMW and MB have the X3 M40i and GLC 43, respectively. SEMA should be for something completely bonkers, not something that other companies already offer on the mass-market...

Interested in knowing if those Eibach lowering springs are going to be available to the public at some point - a 2" drop is a bit much but something like 1.2"-1.5" would be great to improve the stance of the car.

They never mentioned upgrades to the transmission to handle tq/hp. 👍😎
so..maybe near future those same springs and ktuner or hondata for power, same brake package and you have your type s / sema RDX

Smart man, no they never did mention the transmission, but I don't think this is a running prototype or at least not heavily tested.

Most turbo engines have a TON of upside if you let it breathe easier and manipulate the engine tuning. They are typically detuned from the factory. My Audi dealer offers a tune for my 2.0T engine that takes it up over 100hp with just a tune and no aftermarket parts. The HP that Acura is showing at SEMA is easily doable and there will be tuners that will offer tunes for these engines for those wanting more power out of their RDX's.

Hondata already has one for the Accord 2.0. https://www.hondata.com/flashpro-2018-accord

It should be simple for them to put out one for the RDX.

GRP stasnds for Graham Rahal Performance. Graham Rahal is a racing driver. If you are not familiar, GRP also makes and carries parts for the CTR.
I definitely want a RDX 3.0T like a X3 M40i clone! But I think it's nice to see some performance potential in the base RDX 2.0T too. It’s a great representation of what the average person can do to their RDX if so inclined. I personally would be interested in the lowering springs and tune. As nice as the X3 M40i is, it's a car that starts at like $55k and once loaded it's close to $70k. A base RDX starts at $37k and a fully loaded one is still below $50k. I know the GRP RDX also has a different turbo and 6-piston brakes. But for most people, I'd imagine a RDX 2.0T with some bolt on's and a tune would already be pretty decent with may be 310-320hp. It being 300lb lighter than a X3 would help bridge that power gap. And those upgrades would still be more cost effective than getting a X3 M40i.

I'm just glad to see the aftermarket power, braking, and handling departments are starting to come alive for the 3rd Gen RDX! We have the option to pick and choose how much or how little to customize the RDX compared to the 2nd Gen RDX. Think what aftermarket can do with the 3.0T V-6 for the MDX once that hits the road.
