Active Damper Suspension

Most of the the video reviews and online forums state that only the ADVANCE model has the active damper system.

2 different dealers said the active damper system is standard on all models. I told them to double check or get me part replacement #'s to prove to me that they all have it.

Can anyone provide truth to their claims? Are the videos reviews wrong? Are the members on the boards miss informed?

Thanks everyone!

Might just be a matter of terminology. Reactive dampers on all models - adaptive only on Advance.

Salesmen being misinformed is not uncommon. He probably slept through that slide.

I have an 19 RDX advance since June but recently had to take it to the dealer for an issue and am driving a 19 RDX base model. I can say without question you can feel the difference of not having the adaptive damper system imo. Also the acoustic glass in the advance really works well! The base model is not loud persay but at highway speeds I can tell the advance is much quieter. Among the the other difference in features as well I really feel the advance is worth the extra cost and really brings the luxury feeling that the competition offers still at a much better value!

A car salesman not knowing shit all about a car he's selling? What an incredible shocker. I honestly never ever give any attention to car salesman or petstore employees. It's hilarious the bullshit you will hear.

Only once have I ever come across a salesman who knew as much about the car as I did.

Plus, with all the different models and trims, it is easy enough to not keep everything straight, especially for a ‘people person’ which is what most salesmen are, as opposed to a more technical minded person, which many of us are.

In my time, I have run into 2 people who were both very technical minded and that have excellent people skills. Those people were not car salesmen, they ‘sold’ or arranged financial packages at high levels. One has since passed away, and the other one retired young.

I really think this is the issue. I was looking through the “build your vehicle “ on the Acura website for the MDX. As a feature in the advanced package it states “active dampening system”

and for the RDX the feature for advanced package is listed as “adaptive dampering system”

maybe be the salesman have these two things confused...

on another note the MDX now offers an a spec package and i saw the model in the dealer in the red which looked beautiful and no side molding!!
